MANY FAMILIAR NAMES AMONG SPOKESPERSONS FOR EUROVISION 2013

One more exciting thing for Eurovision fans are the spokespersons as every year several previous (and sometimes future) Eurovision entrants re-appear to announce the votes of their country, or previous hosts like this year Alsou for Russia. or she's a double as she also did Eurovision as singer. For Italy it's lovely Federica Gentile, for San Marino John Kennedy O'Connor, a very familiar name for Eurovision freaks. And Finland gives the honor to Kristiina Wheeler, who would be a great entrant herself (What are you waiting for??). Here are the ones this bloggers can pick up with the first look: Armenia - André (ESC 2007) Bulgaria - Joanna Dragneva (ESC 2007) Estonia - Rolf Roosalu (multiple national finalist) Finland - Kristiina Wheeler (singer and future ESC participant?) Germany - Lena (ESC 2010, 2011) Latvia - Anmary (ESC 2012) Norway - Tooji (ESC 2012) Russia - Alsou (ESC 2000 + hostess 2009) Sweden - Yohio (national runner up) Ukraine - Matias (m...

New videos from Sirusho, Sarbel, Harel and André

Eurovision stars Sirusho and André from Armenia, Harel Skaat from Israel and Sarbel from Greece have released recently new videoclips. Sirusho goes with self-penned I like it and apparently is sponsored by Air Armenia. She will also be the guest star in Yerevan's Junior Eurovision song contest on December 3, 2011. André has teamed up by Georgian Nini Shermandini , also familiar name from national selections. Ov shirun, shirun recalls Argentinian tango and Buenos Aires more than Yerevan I think. Great track anyways, almost Gotan Project-esque, isn't it? And a very stylish video, too. Sarbel of Helsinki 2007 fame is making a comeback to the scene with Pou na girnas , a very Greek sounding song indeed. Very simple video but the song's nice. Last but not least Harel Skaat . His 21st century also features a very low budget video displaying the virtual life we lead these days.... But a very catchy nice song that grows with a couple of listenings. And Hebrew sounds great...

André ready for the sacrifice

It seems André has stated years ago he will do Eurovision again when it's held in Baku. Sounds like the good old "Finland will win Eurovision when hell freezes over" and look what Lordi did? Instead of frozen hell we have a global warming and André is almost ready for the sacrifice to go to Baku "if his mother land needs it" as he says in OGAE Armenia's interview. Well, let's just hope there will be an Armenian entry in Baku at all or otherwise EBU has a lot to explain why they always insist Eurovision has nothign to do with politics. What would that be but politics? Anyways, André whose latest effort is Miaseq ergin has one Eurovision credit, besides being the first Armenian entry ever: he opened the semifinal and closed the final in 2006 with Without your love . He finished 8th starting the string of Armenian top-10 placements that was cut only by Emmy this year when she failed to make the final altogether.
