Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

UK performs at the second half of the final Lucie and her mirror miages in a San marino 2014 pimped sea shell in her golden dress looks and sounds fantastic. It's basicly all very simple yet looks like overblown Christmas decoration extravaganza - but in a good way! Especially in the close ups, the wide camera angles might be a bit too much....  UK might be heading for their best result for a very long time. They should at least if there's any justice.

I love Lucie. I did since the first time I head the song. And the staging is completely something else I thought it'd be. They have pimped valentina Monetta's sea-shel from Copenhagen and Lucie stands there like a golden goddess and belts out the song in a rain of everything gold. I'd love to say I love it but untilI see the screen footage I'm not sure. But staging aside, it could be so much worse. And she sings like an angel.  I hope she does UK's best placing since... well.... since a very long time!

The songs were searched in various ways: open submission and OGAE members being part of the jury, inviting composers directly, seeking help from music industry big guns. In the end we had six songs to choose from. In the end Lucie Jones was declared the winner with Never give up on you, witten by the Danish Eurovision song contest winner Emmeli De Forest with The Treatment and Lawrie Martin. Lucie Jones (26) comes from Cardiff and her first claim to fame is the X Factor 2009 where she finished 8th. After X Factor she signed a modelling contract but soon enough was starring in musicals in West End. Next came a Wonderbra campaign and then some more musicals, television and theatre. Lucie Jones won the Eurovision - You decide 2017 aka United Kingdom's national final tonight. A simple classy performance, her alone in a spotlight in a red dress and strong vocals. The song is even co-written by Eurovision winner Emmelie De Forest. Not sure how it will do in Kyiv but it's an elegant choice and so far by far the best entry chosen. Then again, they are only four (4). :-) Lucie (26) came to attention in X Factor but was voted out as the fifth act in live, knocked out by none other than Jedward. That even included a minor voting scandal. Danyl Johnson was in the same show as well and was the first to jump in and congratulate her on stage. Since then she's been doing major musicals. And now she will sing for the UK in Kyiv Never give up on you .
