Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

Iceland chose No prejudice by Pollapönk. The song comes with a message but is hidden under a comedy act so it may be lost to European audiences, despite its change of language from Enga fordóma . In Iceland the band is liked by kids and adults alike, has won awards for their work against prejudices and they have a long history in various bands and combinations as mucisians. The line up is Haraldur Freyr Gislason, Heidar Orn Kristjansson, Arnar Thor Gislason and Gudni Finnsson. Backing singers are Snæbjörn Ragnarsson ( of metal band Skálmöld) and a Member of Icelandic Parliament Óttar Proppé. Robert: Although I kinda like the winning song of the Islandic preselection by Pollapönk, I totally fell for Guðbjörg Magnúsdóttir 's Aðeins ætluð þér but what happened here? It totally came last!!!! Justice be made. two wildcard were added to the final line up in Iceland's final of Söngvakeppni next Saturday; Ásdís María Viðarsdóttir's Amor and Sigríður Eyrún Friðriksdóttir's Lífið kviknar á ný . So in the end six out of ten songs in Iceland made it to the final, a bit like 8 out of 12 in Finland.... F.U.N.K and Pollapönk qualified from the yesterday's second semifinal and IMO the best ones are still Ásdis and if I can't have her, Greta Mjöll.... In Iceland Söngvakeppni Sjónvarpsins 2014 started as well. Five songs in the running and two were voted to the final: Gréta Mjöll - Eftir eitt lag and Gissur Páll Gissurarson - Von . To be honest I'm not very suprised about the choices even if I was hoping for Ásdís María Viðarsdóttir - Amor to make it. The people of Björk didn't warm up to that enough, sadly. Also Sverrir Bergmann - Dönsum burtu blús and Vignir Snær Vigfússon - Elsku þú are out but that's ok. Or maybe I would have sent Ásdis Maria with Vignir to the final....Oh well. Next week another five songs and two qualifiers.
