Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

These past two months the Eurovision 2018 artists have all been visiting Portugal filming their postcards for the show. This blogger thinks its a wonderful idea and the way it shoud always be! The idea itself isn't anything new, but usually the filming has taken place during the Eurovision stay, this time they have had a couple of days to do it all around Portugal and hopefully it shows! Also San Marino's postcard has been filmed and SVT's crew travelled to the tiny state with Serhat. Inside shots in Teatro Titamo and outside shots on top of the hill and castle. That's quite a few steps to run up and down for the camera crew! I didn't know seeing all that makes me miss my favorite little country so much and the good moments spent there with some special people. And the amazing views.... Also Finland's postcard for the coming Eurovision song contest 2016 in Stockholm has been filmed. It seems Sandhja is having a special guest star in it.... 

The 43 Heads of delegations come together in Stockholm with EBU and SVT handing over their entries. Or at least all SVT needs to set up the staging and live performance for them, with special requests and all the ideas they have.  Bulgaria has been granted a permission to present their entry If love was a crime only on March 20 for reasons known only to themselves. Croatia, Malta and Iceland will also present their official preview videos on March 17.  The postcard have been/will be shot in every country giving us glimpse of both their personal and artistic lives. These are shot in 3-4 different places in every country.  The running order will be decided by the producer by the end of March. Once they know what every country has planned and what kind of effects they are using in their staging. We don't want five songs with pyros one after another do we? But one thing is already known: Sweden will perform as number nine in the final! The preliminary date...

We are now entering the apparently slow month between the national finals and start of the contest in Copenhagen in the end of April with rehearsals and all the rest. Instead behind the scenes it's all crazy for the delegations with preparations, rehearsals, promotion, interviews, recording albums, mixes..... And soon there will be the two important promotion events as well, Eurovision in Concert and London Eurovision.... But back to Copenhagen: The head of delegation meeting was earlier this week in Copenhagen and finally the last entries were presented, too. As for the offcial news the premilinary dates for the Eurovision number 60 in 2015 have been set to May 12, 14 and 16 . The host country draw its position in the final and picked up a very nice 23 out of 26. The positions for the semifinals will be revealed by DR later this month. The HoDs also got a sneak peek of the stage and some described it huge, ”Moscow huge”, so good bye to the intimacy of Malmö 2013...

Softengine has filmed their postcard for Eurovision song contest 2014 yesterday. The postcard features icebreaker and more ice. Judging the photo with chain saw it will be certaily something else!  Meanwhile the band is in Helsinki in Finnvox studios recording their album and doing also gigs every now and then, next one on March 14 in Seinäjoki.
