Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

Portugal returns to Eurovision after a year when they were supposed to study the matter and bring Festival da canção to the 2000's (2010's would be pushing it a bit too far..) but instead we got lovely mostly acoustic Portuguese songs that have absolutely nothing to do with Eurovision and no effort whatsoever to try to fit the formula. And I love it! That's how it should be in every country! t first glance it may look the jury and the televoters did a lot of disagreement in the semifinals but a closer look underlines the fact they pretty much agreed after all. With some exceptions though. In the first semi the jury pushed Deolinda though when televoters only placed her second to last. Portugal makes a welcome return to Eurovision after a year of soul searching and revamping the Festival da Canção. The expectations are high it would be finally if not in the 2010's at least in the 2000's...  Anyways, 16 invited composers have all maide their winning package, four our of eight semifinalists will advance to the final after a televote-jury vote. In the final there will be regional juries and televote. Portugal returns to Eurovision song contest after one year's absense and soul searching and it seems they are aiming high. There will be two semifinals, they have dropped the language rule (sigh...) but as usual the songs have been ordered from country's top composers. Now it's time to reveal some of the artist, or half of them. And the first semifinal alone includes three former The Voice of Portugal winners!
