ISRAEL: IBA CLOSED DOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF EUROVISION

Surprise news from Israel: IBA has been shut down. The closing of the 49 years old broadcaster has been in the air for a long time and was originally ment to happen April 30. The Eurovision song contest however was in the way as it would have made Israel unable to participate. Last night in the TV-news it was announced they will shut down immediately, except for 20 staff members who will take care of the Eurovision song contest semifinal and the Grand final broadcasts on Thursday and Saturday, the rest of the programming both on radio and television is suspended and shut down.  The new broascaster KAN will take over on Monday May 15. So, what does this all mean to Israeli's future participation? KAN is not an EBU member and with its current programming plans won't be able to be one. It's goal is to be an entertainment channel and broadcaster rather than a general one that has also news etc. For an EBU member it's mandatory to broadcast and have also its own news ...

ISRAEL: IMRI'S GOT KISSES AND A MESSAGE TO YOU!

Imri from Israel blows you a kiss with this message

ESC 2017 KYIV - DAY 7: ISRAEL SECOND REHEARSAL

Imri has a very effective and hypnotic backdrop to start the song with. It changes into shades of red and green when the chorus kicks in, the fire pillars erupt and the dancers join him on stage - and his vocals go all over the place. The image of Imri breaking into pieces on screen is stunning. Two white dressed dancers are next to him most of the time but the other three, singing and dressed in black do join the party time to time and it looks relaly nice that way. This song's weakest part is the chorus, and Imri's weakest part are the vocals in the chorus. But this celebration of life should be enought o push him to the final as no one will notice :-)

ESC 2017 KYIV - DAY 4: ISRAEL FIRST REHEARSAL

Imri is literally breaking into pieces on backdrop while he dances it away with his two white dressed dancers, Later on the three dressed in black backing singers join the formation in a true Israeli Eurovision fashion. Imri is in tight black top challenging San Marino's Jimmie in that muscles department. The choreography has a lot of hand movements and a lot of red and green in the backdrop that features a kind of fan shaped sun (?). A good finish for the second semi and all he needs to do is hit those notes....

ISRAEL: IMRI ZIV IS FEELING ALIVE

Israel's chosen one, Imri Ziv has selected and presented his untempo song I feel alive with a lovely video with footage from the previous two Eurovision song contests where he as the backing singer/dancer on bar's TV-screen, driving around with other guys and partying in Tel Aviv. Great video, catchy tune with a hint of oriental sounds but .... it doesn't really get going full blast does it? maybe that will happen on stage. Hopefully! I live in faith.
