Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

Käärijä has been touring Finland with full packed sold out gigs ever since he cha cha chaed to victory in UMK2023, hasn't left the charts and radio waves since and has got everyone talking about him, fueled by the Eurovision 2023 polls and odds. Some eager Finns might be already booking hotel rooms in Tampere and speculating who will be hosting Eurovision 2024 in Tampere Arena. If I may say mine I think it'd be very classy to welcome back amazing Jaana Pelkonen and Mikko Leppilampi and Krista Siegfrids could be the princess of the nation played by Krisse Salminen in 2007. Just like AFTER Lordi's win there are products! If Lordi got his Lordi Cola in shops the summer after their win Käärijä is already ready with his very own alcohol free Piña Colada and Piña colada tasting ice cream! It's crazy, it's party! Yle organized among its other consolation Eurovision 2020 programming also a voting to find out the most loved Finnish entries of each decade (here). Marry me , she sung to the whole of Europe back in 2013, when she and Janne Grönroos had been together already almost ten years. The year after Janne finally took the hint and proposed to her in Maledives but it would take another three years when they finally got married late 2017. Less than two years later the marriage is sadly over. Krista comments on her social medias: We got to grow up together with Janne. He has taught me a lot and made me a better person. We have experienced a lot together, downhill and uphill. Life changes people, as well as their needs and dreams.  We have decided together to continue the journey as friends. I am really grateful that we have shared all these years together. I will appreciate and love you forever Janne.❤ We hope that we will get the peace we need to recover from our divorce. Finnish variety show Tähdet, tähdet,  hosted by Eurovision 2007 host Mikko Leppilampi, where artists compete every week performing a different genre this season also Eurovision got its night. In tonight's episode the remaining artists sung their hearts out with Eurovision songs, choreographies, glitter and wind machines. Sadly only five artists are left in the show, so we only got to enjoy only five songs. Eurovision wannabes Mikael Saari and Tomi Metsäketo have already been voted out in the previous weeks.... (Next week will be country, last week was Finnish singer-songwriters for example) Krista Siegfrids was the expert jury member and also opened the show with an Eurovision medley with the respective choreographies doing an amazing job with My number one, Wild dances, Dancing Lasha tumbai, Marry me and Pump pump. Sitting here on a rainy Saturday evening I was thinking about Krista Siegfrids and her singles.... and I realized she has already released 7 (seven) singles since her debut album and its three releases ( Marry me , Amen , Can you see me ). Seven singles and four years. Where's the album, hello snälla du? It's taking so long most likely some of these fabulous songs won't fit in that would be such a shame! Finally! Krista Siegfrids got married to her Janne Grönroos this Saturday in her hometown Kaskinen. The couple met when both were studying to become teachers in Vaasa, and eventually moved to Helsinki when Krista's singing career took off and Janne landed a job in radio. Today he's working in Stockholm for Aftonbadet tv, and Krista works in both countries. The couple has been together already 13 years, and Krista wrote Marry me for UMK and Eurovision 2013 jokingly to get Janne to propose. He finally did it in Maldives a year later on holidays and due to their busy schedules it took this long to have the wedding. Congratulations, Krista and Janne!

  Krista Siegfrids will perform today in Helsinki's Musiikkitalo some Swedish classics with Tomi Metsäketo who came second in Euroviisut 2006 losing only to Lordi with his Eternamente Maria . The concert Thank you for the music is part of annual Helsingin Juhlaviikot and the songs to be performed were voted by the public over the smmer. Below is the list of the songs to be performed and the original artists, aka the most loved Swedish songs in Finland :-) Krista however performed already yesterday one of the songs, Eva Dahgren's Vem tänder stjärnorna in the Eurobasket Fan Village right next to the venue sporting a huge Krista billboard.... She really did justice to the original, great stuff! Finland celebrates its 100th anniversary as an Independant state in 2017 and Finland is filled with events all year long ( like this one ). After the event in Tallinn earlier this summer this weekend its Sweden's turn to join in the fun and Stockholm hosts a three day event STHLM/SUOMI in the same place where the Eurovision Village was, Kungsträdsgården. Besides the more serious stuff and the obvious food, sauna and Moomin trolls, the agenda is filled with entertainment.
