ESC 2017 REVIEW - SPAIN (36): MANEL NAVARRO - DO IT FOR YOUR LOVER

Pictured Spain's national flower carntion Spain's national final Objetivo Eurovision didn't lack drama. There was a share of it already in the online Eurocasting phase but the real drama came in the final where Manel and Mirela first finished with the same points (why this always happens in Spain?) and then the three judges decided on Manel, only that one of the judges maybe was a bit too close to Manel to be there in the first place. He re-performed his winning entry amongst booing and people walking out of the studio, and apparently even gave the finger to the audience at some point. The whole drama ended up even in the parliament.... But here he is. Not immensely supported by the heated Spanish fandom. Do it for your lover is written by Manel himself with Antonio Rayo Manel (21) shot to the fame from a local talent show, Catalunya Teen Star, where he earned a recording deal and released his first single in late 2014. Next year he was signed to Sony, released ...

SPAIN: MANEL NAVARRO FOR SPAIN

After a dramatic finish Manel Navarro will represent Spain in the Eurovision song contest 2017 in Kyiv with Do it for your lover . In the case of a tie the jury was to determinate the winner and just that happened. Only that later the question rose of the jury was free of ties with the artists, or rather Manel. The outtraged fans in the audience didn't wait for his winning performance but walked out while a member of parliament has stepped out to question the way tax payer funded RTVE was handling the process and it all may end up in court.... Drama.  1. Manel Navarro (jury 34+ televote 24 = 58) 2. Mirela (22+36=58) 3. LeKlein (22+30=52) 4. Maika (20+21=41) 5. Mario Jefferson (25+14=40) 6. Paula Rojo (21+18=39) PS. Outside Spain no one cares really as later that night Italy chose its entry that is already making waves all over Europe... Manel who?

ESC 2016 SPAIN: HURRAY, BAREI FOR SPAIN!

Hurray, sing la la la, say yay yay yay , Barei won the Spanish national final with her fun and catchy performance also beating vocally most of the others. Xuso wasn't victorious in the end, big sign of relief for that. RTVE had quite a nice if simple show that did the job. The opening and interval acts were a lot of fun, the competing songs were heard a zillion times and all in all it almost run also the time it was ment to. All is fine. Gracias Spain. Curiously international juries preferred Salvador Beltran, but the Spanish televoters left him last and also the jurors Loreen, Marin and Edurne put him last or second to last while they all preferred Barei. But then again, Barei was also international jury's second favorite. 1. Barei - Say yay! 114 2. Xuso Jones - Victorious  94 3. Salvador Beltran - Dias de alegria  72 4. Maria Isabel - La vida solo es una  68 5. Maverick - Un mundo mas feliz  66 5. Electric Nana - Now  66
