Amadeus with Fiorello and Tiziano Ferro broke record last night with best viewing figures in 25 years for the second night despite everyone complaining how long the night was and how many guests there were and how half the Big artists got to perform only after midnight.... 53,3%  share and nearly 9,7 million average viewers, up 6% from last year.  This said, Francesco Gabbani not only won last night but is also in pole position for this third night. Tonight's co-hostesses are Albanian presenter Alketa Vejsiu, who we all know from Festivali i Kenges, and Georgina Rodriguez, Cristiano Ronaldo's girlfriend (or wife?). Apparently that qualifies you as a hostess. Anyways, tonight is going to be another very long night I suppose with all 24 Big artists performing a cover song. The members of the orchestra and choir are voting tonight and insanely these votes will be added to the total score of the artists in the final ranking come Saturday.... Tonight's guests stars ...

  It's almost September and Rai still hasn't decided nor let us know who will be hosting the Sanremo festival next year. If you think it's not important who it is, you are wrong. It is crucial. For the viewing figures and most of all for us following - would you like to spent five loooooong nights with someone you don't like or can't stand? Didn't think so. Sanremo already is a five long nights affair and if spent in a wrong company it just seem to drag on ever longer.... After various Mika s, Antonella Clerici s, Massimo Ranieri s and lastly Amadeus after Fabio Fazio and Fabrizio Frizzi are certainly out (phew) the past days has been all about speculation it will be Carlo Conti again for the fourth year in a row. The rumor is he will have next to him another figure from competing channel, Mediaset's Silvia Toffanin . If this year he had the Queen of Mediaset Maria De Filippi, Toffanin is the wife of Silvio Berlusconi's son and Mediaset'...

Surprising hot rumors from Italy: Pippo Baudo could return to Sanremo with Mika and Virginia Raffaele with him.  Mika has been rumored since spring and his Stasera Casa Mika entertainment show on Rai 2 that was a success in late 2016. The second season is to be aired this fall.  Virginia Raffaele, comedienne, has been present in the past two festivals with a great success and would fit in nicely for the third year as well. The real surprise would be the return of Pippo Baudo (81). No one can deny his success with the festival as the host and artistic director in the past, and the list of artists he has discovered and made stars is a very long one. He has hosted the festival 13 times (1968, 1984-85, 1987, 1992-96, 2002-03, 2007-08).  This would surely be an interesting trio with a real veteran to whom hosting the five nights might just be a bit too much in his tender age, a rather new one with not so much experience holding a hours long live show and a crazy sho...

The gossip mill of the possible host for the next Sanremo festival is summer's favorite topic and it's heating up ahead of the RAI's decision and announcement. After two years with Fabio Fazio and three with highly succesful Carlo Conti RAI needs something special to secure the newfound popularity of the festival.  In past days veteran hosts Fiorello and Amadeus have been named, as well as Fiorello's actor brother Beppe . Fazio was mentioned earlier but it seems now his new contract, even with the option for Sanremo included, will be just too busy for the 2018 edition. Paolo Bonolis has said apparently yes, but with conditons that won't be doable for the 2018 (and his schedule with the new show Music is also very tight): new venue, new modernized project altogether. The 67th Sanremo festival continues tonight with the second elimination round for the Newcomers ahead of tomorrow's final. Then we have the definitive elimination round for the Big, or two of the six acts that we the bottom-3 in the firts two nights will have a chance to convince the jury and the Italians at home that they belong to the final. The other Big are having some fun with cover songs instead. Piccolo Coro dell'Antoniano, MIKA, LP,  actors Alessandro Gassman and Marco Giallini are there to promote their new film, comedians Luca and Paolo make a comeback to the festival. Models Anouska Delon and Annabelle Belmondo, both with important surnames are present as well.
