Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

Azerbaijan has once again had the longest and also weirdest national selections ( read more here ) but now we have come to an end luckily. Ten singers have made it so far. Two guys against eight females. The show takes place in Buta Palace in Baku starting at 18.00 CET this Tursday, March 14, 2013. A professional jury will pick up the winner. It seems the artists already have the song that they will sing in Malmö 2013 in case of victory unlike previous years, as there are only a few days of time to present it to EBU next week. And it looks like Farid Mammadov and Leyla Oliyeva could be the ones to watch out.... maybe. The Azeri selection is at times like an Eurovision nightmare, celebration of broken English and simply should be shut down and stop this raping of songs. It must have been a good idea on paper but this season is proving to be even worse than the previous .... or what do you say about these: (ok, the last one is not an Eurovision song but sets the tune nicely, maybe you should start with that one.....) The selection has entered its 4th week so there's many masterpieces like these to come by still before the season is over and someone gets to sing a pre-ordered song from Sweden and collect all the Turkish votes in Malmö 2013 :-)
