The official single's chart that you can find here differs quite a lot from what the radios play proving the streaming audience is not the same as radio listening audience. Needless to say this blogger is a lot more in tune with the radio waves. Even if they played mostly only Nelli Matula's UMK 2025 entry and BEHM... And Ed Sheeran being the only non Finnish chart topper in 2025!   After a month's break it's time to relaunch your #Finpop 2025 doses. We kick of with Behm dueting with Ahti (she's in charts also dueting with Kuumaa's Johannes covering Käärijä, read more here ), along with other collaboration with Mellas and Sana. I have already featured Sana as well as Runo in this series. And then we have Louie Blue who's tipped for UMK 2026 even by other than this blogger as I have tipped for a couple of years already.  It's almost August but #Finpop 2025 keeps delivering. First we have BEHM singing for the first time in English as she enters the movie business blonde starring and headlining a new movie Anna minun rakastaa enemmän. Curiously not credited. I already posted the Official singles chart #1's here , and it's time to check out the Radio play charts that often featured very different songs. And as the singles chart was all Finnish but the Wham's Christmas #1 the situation is not different here: Only one song, in the last week, too, made it to #1 and that was Lady Gaga & Bruno Mars! Only 12 songs made it to #1 as most of the year they kept going up and down and switching places at top. UMK Sara Siipola scored #1 here, as did UMK veterans BESS and Benjamin together, and BESS with Elastinen as well. Also another UMK veteran Robin Packalen scored his biggest hits in years. And if Mirella dominated the Singles chart being on top for 25 weeks here she did with two songs for six weeks. BESS was the Queen here with her 16 weeks on top! The 2024 year in music started with AHTI's Väärään aikaan (feat. Hugo) sitting at #1 spot for the 5th week in a row. Then came Mirella going straight to #1 in week 2 starting off a spectacular year for this newcomer. Four number one hits and 25 weeks at number one spot! A total of 12 Top-20 hits off her #1 debut album. Check out the Radio Play charts here It was also a year of duets and collaborations while UMK 2024 artists Sara Siipola and Sexmane scored a joint #1 (when their UMK songs stopped at #2 and #4), as did hostess and interval act Pilvi Hämäläinen. And good old Wham! scored a Christmas number one being also the ONLY foreign act to do so. The rest was then pretty much various (pop) rappers as usual. All in all the songs that made it to #1 are all quite melodic and good and deserved their success, unlike in many times in previous years when I personally wasn't so keen on those that made it to the top many times. The past three years the most streamed song on Spotify in Finland has been an UMK entry but not anymore in 2024. Newcomers Mirella, Hugo and Ani took over but Kuumaa was still the second most listened act in general, Sexmane 5th. Their both latest albums made also the list of most listened albums: Pisara meressä (1.) and Hyvikset ja pahikset (6.) The most listened artist was however Turisti , followed by Kuumaa, Mirella, Gettomasa , Sexmane , Ibe , Costi , Taylor Swift, Isac Elliot and Lauri Haav .  1. Mirella - Timanttei 2. Yle has announced the rules for Umk 2023 aka the Finnish national selection for the Eurovision song contest 2023 to be held somewhere in the United Kingdom on behalf of Ukraine. While doing so they also promise that Umk 2023 will be bigger than ever! The submission period is from September 1 to 5 . One artist is allowed up to three submissions (but only one of them can qualify). If chosen the final versions must be ready by November 3. The final will take place in February 2023.  The songs can't be sent to any other country's selections and at least one writer must be a Finn, as well as the main soloist, or at least have a permanent residence in Finland. Rest of the rules are the common Eurovision rules set by Ebu. Finland's Eurovision entry Dark side by Blind Channel is number one, while Eurovision winners Måneskin are rnner up with I wanna be your slave. And fifth with Eurovision winner Zitti e buoni. If BEHM was the Queen in the official singles charts ( here ) she also dominated the radio charts with her two song with a total of 17 weeks at number one and a total of 97 weeks in Top-100 with her various songs. In radios the longest lasting number one was however Epäröimättä hetkeekään by Elastinen & Jenni Vartiainen with 20 weeks at number one. Then comes surprisingly Erin with Yhtenä sunnuntaina and its seven weeks. Another duet 2020 by Anna Puu and Olavi Uusivirta spent 4 weeks at number one while Stereo feat Samu Haber and Arttu Wiskari topped the charts only for a week, making it only seven radio number ones in 2020! A total of 14 songs topped the official Finnish singles chart in the 2020 for anything between one week to an incredible 20 weeks. Nine of them were Finnish and the foreign one with the most weeks has a video directed by a Finn, namely Blinding lights . The queen of 2020 is BEHM who's Hei rakas  continued being number one also in 2020 after six weeks in the end of 2019 (and 12 in total in top-20 in 2019 and where it still stays in  week 53/20!). Her Frida has spent in the charts already 25 weeks in top-7 and spent 3 separate weeks at #1 and 15 weeks at #2! Tivolit spent 22 weeks in the top-20, three of them at #2. Her other seven album songs made the charts for a total of 34 weeks thanks to streaming.  If BEHM was the Queen then William was the King with 20 weeks on top with Penelope . The Weeknd was the real foreign contender and by the end of the year Vain elämää reality provided two #1 hits this season: Stig covering Arja Koriseva 's cover of Annikki Tähti 's cover ...

Album of the year, or a decade?  No doubt one of the best debut albums ever by anyone if you ask me. If her single releases ( Hei rakas, Tivolit, Frida ) have been just wonderful the album offers still many to come as there are no real fillers.  In many ways the whole BEHM affair reminds me of Chisu when she came out: A female artists who writes her songs and produces herself after writing songs to others and never aiming to become a singer herself. And here we are, only BEHM's debut beats Chisus's debut album in every way, Chisu blossomed only with the following alhums that earned her several awards and the historic, first ever Producer of the Year award for a female artist in Emma awards, the Finnish Grammys. I wouldn't be surprised if BEHM picks up the Newcomer, the Female artist, the song, the album awards at least next spring. The album Draaman kaari viehättää (#1) sold platinum before its release, All the songs entered the top-15 in the streaming charts.  But back ...
