EUROVISION THE NETHERLANDS: MY FAVOURITES OVER THE YEARS

Now as the Netherlands has withdrawn from Eurovision song contest at least in 2026, let's have a look of some Dutch favorites of mine over the year. 't is OK seems to be totally forgotten but I loved it to bits as kid.  And I have very fond memories of talks with two of these artists: Ilse and Edsilia. Enjoy! 2014 The Common Linnets - Calm after the storm (2nd) 1980 Maggie MacNeal - Amsterdam (5th) 2022 S10 - De diepte (11th) 2016 Douwe Bob - Slow down (11th) 2019 Duncan Laurence -  Arcade (1st) 1990 Maywood - Ik wil alles met je delen (15th) 1993 Ruth Jacott - Vrede (6th) 1978 Harmony - 't is OK (13th) 1998 Edsilia Rombley - Hemel en aarde (4th) There would have been quite a few to pick up as well but these sounded the ones at this time and space.  Special mentions go to: 1988 Gerard Joling - Shangri-La (9th) 1987 Marcha - Rechtop in de wind (5th) 1979 Xandra - Colorado (12th) 1992 Humphrey Campbell - Wijs me de weg (9th) 1984 Maribelle - Ik hou van jou (13th)

Eurovision in concert comes again!

The already annual Eurovision in concert , the biggest pre-Eurovision gathering and pretty much the official kick off for the event takes place on April 21, 2012 in Amsterdam. It's the 4th edition and once again some 20+ artists from this year's contest will meet and greet the fans, sing their songs and get to know each other in an unofficial way. Already Ivi Adamou from Cyprus, Can Bonomo from Turkey and ever present Sinplus from Switzerland have confirmed their precence along with the yet unnamed Sammarinese artist. More info later right here or go to the website here . Ruth Jacott and Cornald Maas will present the show.

From the heart of Edsilia Rombley

One of the finest existing voices around, Edsilia Rombley released her first album since her less fortunate Eurovision trip to Helsinki 2007 last year titled Uit mijn hart . The first single was Geef je over followed by Uit het oog niet uit mijn hart , a duet with another fine voiced Eurovision lady, Ruth Jacott. And now it's time for the third single Ik laat je niet alleen .  Other songs from the album include Samen alleen  and Dat je altijd bij me bent . This girl could sing a telephone book in Dutch and it always sounds lovely.

OMG, Edsilia and Ruth together!

Two of my favourite Dutch voices ever, Edsilia Rombley and Ruth Jacott have released a single Uit het oog, niet uit mijn hart together. It's of Edsilia's worthcoming album. The song may not be as good as it could be but then these two ladies could sing even the telephone book in Dutch and I'd like to listen it anyways, so....  The ladies also share the best Dutch Eurovision entries of the past 20 years or so... UPDATE : here's the video.I just adore these ladies....
