Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

  Here we go again! Once again Blogilkar's home jury has sat through the songs and videos and voted from 1 to 10. This year the jury consisted of pre-teens, 20somethings, 30somethngs, 40somethings and 50somethings. Even a dog participated and went nuts for Romania but was not allowed to vote. Most of the jury members had not heard any of the songs beforehand, some not even the Finnish one.And yes, this jury didn't care for betting odds, fan favorites or wanks but only their own taste and first impression!   LPS aka Last Pizza Slice was a surprise winner of Ema 2022 with their song Disko , to the horror of fandom who wanted and hyped another acts beforehand. This blogger is pleased, I kinda liked them from the start. They were jury's runner up and televoters winner.  The band met at school 2018-19 and after a minor change in the line up it is now Filip Vidushin - vocals, Gašper Hlupič - drums, Mark Semeja - electric guitar, Zala Velenšek - bass guitar, tenor and alto saxophone and Žiga Žvižej - electronic keyboards. They have participated in a couple of festivals before and released their debut Live from Šiška in 2021 and their debut singles this year, the other being Silence in my head . Slovenia had again its very long new talent Ema Freš selection prior to announcing the Big names for Ema itself. A total of 24 under 30 Freš artists battled it out in endless duels in November-December, and out of January final four of them got an access to the main thing: Stela Sofia, Leya Leanne, LPS and Luma. Next step was two semi-finals where six acts from each made it t the final, and all the youngsters are in! In the final six thematic juries (OGAE members, songwriters, international artists etc) along with the televoting public will choose the winner.  BQL is back for the third time ( 2017 , 2018 ) after being the runner up and televoting winner in both occasions overruled by the jury. Will they have their revenge finally? Luma has generated certain buzz in the fandom though. Anabel - Tendency *** Very middle of the road perfect pop song, and therefor rather unoriginal and forgettable. Anabel maybe isn't the strongest link in this affair. Somehow very American?
