Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

The thing happened again this year. Like every year. Italians outrage for the neighbouring vote from Greece to Cyprus and vice versa for example, but at the same time they expect and demand votes from San Marino for Italy and yet themselves usually forget to vote San Marino (when they can). This year this war was taken to another level. San Marino's wikipedia page was altered right after for example, social medias were filled with hate and dislike towards the microstate and its jury was crucified. San Marino's vote was found nauseating, someone wished Italy cut their power supply for 48 hours to make all their food go rotten, someone wanted to tear the country down and make it a parking lot, someone didn't want to share his oxygen with Sammarinese, they wanted to build a wall around it, flush them down the toilet, move the country to Portugal.... have a military invasion to occupy them.... the list is endless.  So much that Sammarinese couldn't take it as humor any...

Valentina Monetta triumphed in sold out charity concert in Teatro Titano in San Marino on September 30, 2014 with all profit donated to Caritas to help families in economical difficulties. The concert, directed by Fabrizio Raggi, featured besides Valentina most of the cast on her latest album Sensibilità from Off Course Big Band to Banda Militare della Repubblica di San Marino, from Corale San Marino choir to Sarah Jane Ghiotti and Mirco Moroncelli, and of course Valentina's own band. Further local acts included Giulia and Elisa Lazzarini as well as comedian Elisa Manzaroli. Unfortunately Joshua De Cadenéx was unable to leave London and join Valentina on stage in A kiss .  SanMarinoNotizie.com calls the event a delirium and Valentina at her best praising her voice and stage presense and the skilled musicians who enchanted the public to thunderous applauses all through the show. The concert that was ment to celebrate and tribute her success in the Eurovision song contest...

The Sammarinese team has also been busy prepairing their entry for Copenhagen. and it's all coming together; song, video, staging. The song will be presented on March 2014 in streaming for all of you to see. The show Verso Copenaghen/Towards Copenhagen features of course Valentina with friends, team and fans, and premiers her video for the entry. The song is written again by Ralph Siegel. More about that in due time. The video was shot last week as you can see from the image above and the team behind her is the same as last year with Fabrizio Raggi as artistic director. Award winning Michele Massari is the director of the video. More here (in Italian).

It is official now. The team will be back: Valentina Monetta as singer, Ralph Siegel as composer and Fabrizio Raggi as art director for San Marino in Eurovision 2014 according. The pre-contract has been signed this morning.... :-). She will this way also enter in the Eurovision history books with three consegutive entries and by the same author!

Last night San Marino hosted its party and Valentina Monetta impressed on stage singing her more familiar repertoire of jazz and stuff, including a jazzy version of The Network song, which works wonders.Good music, good food, good people, good party.... this is what Eurovision is at its best!
