Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

Spain's Edurne with her Italian dancer Giuseppe Di Bella put on stage quite a show. Spain is famous for overdoing their acts and runing it all but this time it seems that everything holds together even if an awful lot happens on stage. The song starts with the famous la pietà pose and she's wearing a red cap and dress. Jesus, pardon Giuseppe is barechested in her arms. She gets up and finds the wind machine. Half way he tears off her dress and she sparkles in gold and the stage turns from dark to bright. After a lot of echoes notes it's time for a dance. And then some more long notes and behold, the dark clouds are away and she brings us the sun. The song's crap but they make the most of it, and all in all she's got better vocals (or backing singers) than I expected. 

Spain has famously over choreographen aka ruined many entries. Most of us were also pretty sure they would do it again, or the danger was great ti would happen. It seems they may have avoided it this time. Maybe. A lot happens during the three minutes: Edurne starts with a red dress with hood hiding the Italian dancer. Later he strips off her dress revealing a silvery long one, they dance together and he dances and leaves her alone for the finish and who knows what else! The tiger didn't appear at any point though. The backdrop seems interesting and different from the others.... even Edurne vocally was better than expected. Hmm, maybe Spain will end up with a decent result after all?

Spain's entry has been unveiled today. The rumours it is actually a Loreen reject sound very true, as one can easily imagine the song in her album. This said it's ok entry for Spain, but doesn't drive me wild with excitement. Spain tends to overstage their entries and/or fail vocally so let's see how it goes this time and how this stands out when the full line up is ready for Vienna 2015 Eurovision.
