ESC 2016 SWITZERLAND: WE HAVE THE NAMES AND THE SONGS

The three Swiss broadcasters have all come up with their entrie for the Expert Check to be held on Sunday December 6. The six best ones according the expert jury will go on to the natonal final on February 13, 2016 and the winner gets the ticket to Stockholm and Eurovision song contest 2016. Among the 19 we find two Spanish artists; Maika Barbero from La Voz and American dancer Stanley Miller aka Chipper who has been doing career in Spain even in Operacion Triunfo. Rykka is Canadian-Swiss, and Nathalie is Swiss-Brazilian. Evelyn Zangger has participated in the Swiss Popstars, while Stephanie Sandoz has collaborated with very big French names from Florent Pagny to Zazie. Patric Scott and Loic Shumacher are already familiar names from Swiss selections, as is Elias Bertini. If I were to choose I would pick up these , with option for these .  SRF or German speaking television Erica Arnold - Ich bin ich Vincent Gross - Half a smile   ** Samuel Tobias Klauser - Aski...

ESC 2016 SWITZERLAND: WHAT'S COOKING UP?

Switzerland has one of the most insane selection formats there is. SRF has the open internet submission that closes tomorrow, and you can find pretty much everything in there. Old Swiss Eurovision participants like Barbara Berta or other veterans like Slovenian  Omar Naber , national Swiss finalists like Gisel de Marco or Swedish like Velvet , or names like Ylva & Linda , who are everywhere, have submitted a song. Along with some illusional people who actually seem to think they have a voice and can sing or write a song.

ESC 2014: WHAT'S COOKING UP IN SWITZERLAND, vol 2

Yesterday I already blogged about four songs and here are four more that got me interested and listening the songs in full.  When soul meet opera the result is Hopera . And that's what K'ream and LaLa (Ackermann) are offering us. The combination is rather captivating and haunting. Onca again the question is how this will work out live, in case of.... Patric Scott is no stranger to the national selection and here he is again with Alive . A strong catchy pop song. "I'm so over you, I don't need you anymore" he sings. (I hope he doesn't mean his previous duet partner Fabienne Louves. Wasn't it Real love after all?) Vanessa Krasniqi sing My man . It's a power ballad in American style heard about a million times but somehow it still sounds good and sincere. I hope her journey here won't end up like the song's editing on this preview... Autsch!  Two Swiss sisters, what else could they call themselves but Swissters ? Celebration is ...

Switzerland is ready for 2012

The Swiss line up is now ready when SF also revealed its chosen ones. And there really is a little bit everything for everyone, including the very first Eurovision winner Lys Assia who will be 86 in Baku if chosen. And there is a risk she might be chosen and then also giving songwriter Ralph Siegel his 20th Eurovision entry! This blogger is only worried who the grand old lady will survive the two weeks of rehearsals, PR and the infamous Eurovision holabaloo... But let's not go that far yet. I would have rather seen Vittoria Hyde in her place but.... Atomic Angels - Black symphony (DRS 3) Chiara Dubey - Anima nuova (RSI) Emel - She (SF) Guillermo Sorya - Baby baby baby (DRS 3) I Quattro - Fragile (SF) Ivo - Peace & freedom (SF) Katherine St-Laurent - Wrong to let you go (RTS) Lys Assia - C'était ma vie (SF) Macy - Shining (SF) Patric Scott feat. Fabienne Louves - Real love (DRS 3) Raphael Jeger - The song in my head (SF) Sinplus - Unbreakable (RSI)...

Three more for Switzerland

The Swiss Frech speaking broadcaster RTS has chosen its three songs for the national final in December. This bloggers favourite Katherine St-Laurent and two very interesting songs by Sosofluo and Ze Flying Zézettes Orchestra. Now we only miss the six songs to be selected by the German speaking SF and the two from the Italian speaking RSI that will have its own final next week. So far we have these songs ready for the Swiss national final that primises to be a very good one: Atomic Angels - Black symphony (DRS 3) Guillermo Sorya - Baby baby baby (DRS 3) Katherine St-Laurent - Wrong to let you go (RTS) Patric Scott feat. Fabienne Louves - Real love (DRS 3) Sosofluo - Quand je ferme les yeux (RTS) Ze Flying Zézettes Orchestra - L'autre (RTS)

Switzerland: three qualifies for the final!

DRS-3 channels has selected its three entries for the Swiss national final and this blogger is very happy! Two of them I have featured here as Swiss goodies and the third one would have been next in line if I would have continued with the series. So, Fabienne Louves & Patric Scott with Real love , Guillermo Sorya with Baby, baby, baby and Atomic Angels with Black symphony are already in the final line up on December 10, 2011. Sounds very promising!

Swiss goodies for Baku: Patric Scott ft. Fabienne Louves

Another Eurovision duet, this time all Swiss mixing talent show experience with a lot of experience in musicals. They offer Real love with a bit more modern sounds and are clearly inspired by last year's winners Oh, oh, ohs in the bridge.
