Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

The six week long extravacanza known also as Mello and the Swedish Eurovision song contest national final comes to an end in Friends Arena, Stockholm with 35.000 people attending. Hopefully Corona won't be attending as a surprise interval act!  There will be previous winners Anna Bergendahl, Robin Bengtson, The Mamas and last year's Eurovision  (Estonian) veteran Victor Crone against others like previous runner up Felix Sandman and Hanna Ferm who has already tasted some Mello success as well. Fan favorite Dotter has the most interesting show which might tell why she's a favorite as the song alone isn't that great, is it? I'm all Anna B winning again and qualifying this time and ending up, up, up in the scoreboard in May.... Once again some new sounds from Eurovision stars or wannabes of the past... Anouk is back with a new song. The of It's a new day video is dedicated to those who led the way and she potrays those women from Jeanne D'Arc to Princess Diana to Frida Kahlo and many many more. Simple but effective! Bonnie Tyler released a new album earlier this year and is currently touring Europe again. Hold on is the lead single of Between the Earth and the Stars, her 17th studio album. Les Fatals Picards have released a new album  Espèces menacées this year and this  Sucer des cailloux is already a second single off it. They may have lost their Eurovision lead singer Ivan Callot ages ago but not their goofy craziness. If you miss Ivan check his current band Les Rois d la Suède ... Felix Sandman keeps his solo career going strong despite bromancing with Benjamin Ingrosso. Something right is second single off his future album. 

Once upon a time we had Eric Saade and Danny Saucedo competing against each, kissing it good  and also shared girlfriend Molly Sanden - separate times thankfully!  These days we have younger version of them in Benjamin Ingrosso and Felix Sandman. Also they scored the top-2 in Melodifestivalen, became kissing good friends and are now touring Sweden together. No Molly in between them but a lot of bromance. They even released a song together, Tror du att han bryr sig . Now they both have a new song out....  Meanwhile Danny is out with a Latin flavored number Undantag that fits his Bolivian roots,  while Eric's latest offering is from last summer, Another week . 

  Benjamin Ingrosso has won the Swedish national selection Melodifestivalen with his Dance you off. He won both international jury vote and the televote. It was the usual Mello show but for the first time someone had to sing again because of some technical problems, that was Renaida. I also realized heer song is like any Alma song minus Alma's voice. Finnish Alma, not French. I also realized Lundvik would be veery similar to Austria's entry, so...  Jessica wasn't at her best tonight but LIamoo really seemed to enjoy his time onstage. I wasn't feeling neither Felix nor Benjamin and now that Benjamin won, I'm veery, very curious to see how it sounds live. And how they recreate that staging in Lisbon... will they drag the whole lightning system over there? Sweden has its fourth semifinal of Melodifestivalen 2018, that has been a bit of a flop it seems and no wonder. It's about the time people wake up and see it's a lot of nothing but great television. Maybe it's time they do some major changes to the program and realize without great songs you have nothing really. Break that chain indeed. Mariette is once again the top favorite, but let's see if she manages to win it this time? This said, after hearing the snippets it's sad. As it's even worse than I expected. I'm ready to jump on Party Voice 's wagon and hope for its win.....
