Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

The Globen was packed last night, thanks to the Idol 2014 final and One Direction as the guest star but one voice was above them all. Hallelujah is the most raped song in the Idol auditions, we learned last night and the chances are very high one goes wrong with it. So they called The Voice to show them all how it's done with dignity: Carola. Indeed she did justice to the song before switching and mixing it to the fabulous The Ark cover from Så mycket bättre, Tell me this night is over . Watch her performance here . Oh, Idol? The numbers are out and nicely filling the summer gaps in the news. Despite the economical situation and the changes in the music business Finnish music seems to be doing resonable well, at least the big names. The unthinkable of doing stadium gigs is no longer unthinkable when Cheek will have two sold out Olympic stadium gigs this summer and nine out of 10 best selling albums in 2013 in Finland are Finnish and in Finnish. If we count in the compilation albums of Tv-series Vain elämää (Only life or rather C'est la vie) it's a top-11 finish for Finnish music. Robin: Boom kah 83.446 (multi platinum) Teen sensation Robin continues to sell. Album features hits like Boom kah , Erilaiset and Onnellinen . he has just released a new song for the summer (promoting the use of condom btw, already a tradition in Finland) titled Kesärenkaat . I wouldn't be surprised if that will be added to the album that will be resold with new packaging :-) Cheek: Kuka muu muka   73.836 ...

The French selection committee has come up with the three names and no, they are not the big guns we might have been hoping for. At least I have never heard any of these three. By all meanss it doesn't mean they couldn't be good!  Twin Twin is made of Lorent Idir and François Djemel with Patrick Biyik . Judging their video By my side we can expect anything.... Joanna comes from a reality, Star Academy 8 and can belt out even I will always love you . Her debut single gives us something more upbeat. So, we can expect almost anything from her, too Destan is Dean, Killian and Quentin . Or in other words a rather classical boyband, as is their music, like Vole . They even do One Direction covers.... Their eventual entries will be revealed by Natasha St-Pier on January 26 and people can televote until February 23. That counts 50%, the other half of votes is given by a professional jury and the result is revealed on March 2, 2014. This is going to be rather interes...

Roll over, One Direction. Just like Isac Elliot will kick some Bieber ass Satin Circus will take over the world with their Emma . Or so the Finnish record bosses seem to think. What do you think? Two French Eurovision veterans, Anggun and Natasha St-Pier have joined forces in Vivre d'amour.   Not bad but one would tthink these two ladies could do better? Sandoval has covered Arisa's fantastic Sanremo song La notte in Spanish as La noche . Somehow quite different from Arisa's fragile and emotional original, isn't it?  Pernilla Karlsson's brother's band Elokuu is having another hit in Finland with Tänään lähtee ....
