Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

Say you, say me is Lionel Ritchie's 5th (and last so far) solo US #1 single in 1986. It also won both Oscar and Golden Globe as the best original song from a movie (White nights), but it wasn't included on the movie's soundtrack album because Motown didn't want the lead single off his album to be on another label. Fair enough. In 2012 Lionel re-recorded the song with Danish Rasmus Seebach (Tommy's son) for his duets album, and it went to #3 in Denmark.

Tim Schou has a pretty good solo career going since he left his friends in London. He's travelling the world and relesing songs and videos. The latest one is a great track and comes with a steamy video that kinda takes away from the song really. But who's complaining. If you got it, flaunt it. Enjoy the video below. Denmark has a lot to live up in the Eurovision song contest 2016: last two times the contest has been in Sweden Denmark has won. Everyone seems to expect them to do the triple, and that after the failure in the 2015 contest. For the occasion they have revamped their national final and one can only hope big names will be there. Like Rasmus Seebach, who is a superstar on his own right besides being a son of multiple Eurovision veteran, late Tommy Seebach. Rasmus has released three studio albums and one live since 2009, all of them have went to #1 in the Danish charts and sold incredibly 36 times platinum and he has even a gold record from Sweden, and some notoriety in Germany where he scored hts with English version of his songs Angel and Calling . In Denmark he has four #1 singles so far. He has also dueted with Lionel Ritchie . He's coming out with a new album in November, hopefully he left some goodie for DMGP...... Turkish Ayşe Özyılmazel who is Neco's daughter has covered his father's Eurovision 1982 entry Hani for Turkey, and Neco himself is seen in the video. I remember liking the song back then - yes, I'm that old – and Ayşe makes it all very sweet and cute, and the arragement is pretty much the same. But it is not the first time Eurovision kids cover their parents songs. Danish Rasmus Seebach covered his father's 1993 Eurovision entry Under stjernerne på himlen (and did a great job with it!) and in Finland Milana Misic has recorded various songs by her mother Laila Kinnunen, including her 1961 Eurovision entry Valoa ikkunassa . Surely there are more similar cases (hints are welcome in the comment box!). I have a burning desire to have Taikapeili girls Hanna-Riikka Siitonen (Fredi's daughter) and Nina Tapio (backing singer's daughter) cover the Finnish entry Pump pump from 1976. Rasmus Seebach, the very succesful son of Danish Eurovision star Tommy Seebach ( 1979 , 1981 , 1993 ) has recorded his dad's last Eurovision entry Under stjernerne på himlen . And quite frankly he does better than his late father who was very succesful the first two times but ended up a total flop the last time reflecting his own private life and career. But son Rasmus started his career back in 2009 with a #1 single Enge l and three more top-3 singles followed. His latest two efforts are Natteravn and another #1, I mine øjne . He is also ready to conquer the rest of Europe with English versions of his songs like Angel and Calling (nighthawk) . He's one to watch but unfortunately seems uninterested in Eurovision....

Rasmus Seebach scores a hit in Sweden with his fourth single off his debut album, Natteravn . It made it to #6 in Sweden and curiously only #32 in his native Denmark where the previous singles all made top-3: Engel (#1), Glad igen (#2), Den jeg er (#3) (that is dedicated to his late father, how he has finfluenced his  life and how he has forgiven him his alcoholism amongst others. Tommy died in 2003 at the age of 53) and Lidt i fem (#3). Rasmus is a son of Tommy Seebach who Discotangoed Denmark to 6th place in Eurovision 1979 and then sung about curls two years later with Debbie Cameron finishing 11th. He was not third time lucky when the stars above him in the sky awarded him only 22nd place in 1993 . He took part in the Danish national finals five additional times without winning. Maybe Rasmus will follow his footsteps some time soon?
