Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

One of the most successful Finnish pop bands Aikakone makes a comeback in its original form in Syksyn Sävel 2012 contest. Maki Kolehmainen, Sani, Veera and Alex are back again! Aikakone's debut album in 1995 sold tripleplatinum with hits like Alla vaahterapuun , Odota , and Matkustanut oon . Second album gave even more hits, including Nti groove and Opettelen salaa . Third one in 1998 continued the strings of hits with Magiaa , Perhosten yö and Anna mun bailaa . Two participations in Euroviisut and a career also in English as Aika followed, with hits like Hear me now , and second place in Euroviisut 2002 with Stay . Then they took a break and returned in 2008 with a compilation album and in 2010 another album with several new songs. Aikakone's Sani finally enters Euroviisut solo. Aikakone did Euroviisut twice (1996, 2002) and dominated the charts from 1995-1998 and returned in English as Aika in 2001-2003, and reunited shortly this year again for the release of their greatest hits album so Aikakone's return to Euroviisut was expected but instead we got Sani. She did also Euroviisut 1998 with Samuli Edelmann so this is her 4th try. She has also collaborated with Darude and written songs for many other artists. She has released two solo albums so far. The combilation with all the songs from Euroviisut 2008 has been released for the second year. Also Aikakone has their greatest hits CD out with three new songs. Movetron has done the same. Hanna Marsh has released her second album and Vuokko Hovatta her debut. Teräsbetoni 's new album is on the way as well as debuts from Cristal Snow and Mikael Konttinen , and Jippu 's follow up to her award winning debut in 2006.

Hanna Pakarinen will perform as a guest star in the Euroviisut final on March 1 before retiring from the business for a long holiday. Aikakone instead will make a comeback and start anew.

The 90's are definately here. After Aqua, Ace of Base, Movetron and many others also Aikakone, the number one Finnish 90's europop band makes a comeback! They will release a double greatest hits with new songs in February. Their debut album in 1995 sold triple platinum in Finland. In 1996 they participated in Euroviisut with Ihan hiljaa (6th). Two more hit albums followed before a short break and chance to Aika in 2001 and an album in English. They were back in Euroviisut in 2002 with Stay (2nd). Band's songwriter Maki Kolehmainen took all top-3 in that year's Euroviisut, and has had songs in Estonian and Russian selections as well over the years.
