BAKU DAY 5: ISRAEL AND SAN MARINO

Israel hasn't changed their act it seems and why should they? The back drop is cool, the choreography is fun and it all seems to be working at the best possible way. I'm liking a lot the clocks in the back but will they translate well to the TV-screen remains to be seen. I think this is one of the many borderline qualifiers here. It will be very interesting to see how people will vote in the end as this year.... I have no clue! More here . San Marino has all the makings of the big surprise this year. Fans have been slashing the song since it came out and seem to be honored to place it last in every poll. It's not cool to admit liking it, especially when it's written by Ralph Siegel. But the televoters will hear it for the first time and what they hear and see is a happy, cheerful, carefree pop song with a good singer, memorable act and catchy chorus. The Sammarinese team is dressed in white and blue but we have a doctor, a captain, a cheerleader.... It all comes...

BAKU DAY 2: ISRAEL, SAN MARINO, CYPRUS AND DENMARK

The second day of technical rehearsals has started and Israel will be the first act on stage this morning. Israel has a huge clock in the background, pulsing red and green lights and two backing singers-dancers in the catwalk doing 60's-70's style groovy moves. Vocally also good. Hmmm, now I have to say this sounded and looked good! More here . San Marino next. Yes, the laptop is on stage with Valentina and her five backing singers who all are involved in the choreography. A million friends are featured in the backdrop with various "Oh"s and "Uh"s. It all comes across light and bubbly, carefree and happy. If the televoters or jurors will get the irony of it, is another matter. More here . Cyprus is on stage next and one of the most curiously awaited ones: can Ivi sing live? She and her four dancing girls are in a white-blue setting that reminds a bit Kylie Minogue's Afrodite stuff and rightly so. The choreography is rather demanding and by...

VALENTINA: AMSTERDAM, LONDON, TEL AVIV...

San Marino's Valentina Monetta is bringing her social network abroad a bit before heading for Baku 2012. After the Eurovision in concert in Amsterdam and yesterday's London gathering she's off to Israel and will meet and greet fans in Hotel Maxim, 89 Hayarkon street in Tel Aviv. She's to meet also the Israeli entrant Izabo. More info here .  And don't forget the coolest Eurovision competition of the season with fabulous prizes. You can still enter for two weeks only right  here .

Izabo for Israel

We didn't have to wait til tomorrow and it's not Maya Buskila, once again. Izabo is a brilliant, action packed combination of psychadelic rock, disco, punk and Arabic spices it is described. They have been together since 2003 and have released two albums so far with songs like Morning hero , Cook me , Hu , Slow disco and On my way . Their Eurovision 2012 entry will be Time . Definately sems like an alternative choice, in a Ping pong style.
