ITALY: SANREMO A SUCCESS: 58,45 SHARE FOR THE FINAL!

Before we talk more about Francesco Gabbani's victory let's have a final look on the audience and shares. And it's a real boom: the fianl was watched in average by 12.022.000 viewers or 58,45 share, the second best ever! The one doing better is 2009 with Polo Bonolis and Luca laurenti hosting. The festival's five day average is 50,7% (Conti was hoping for a 45% to be happy), the best share since 2005, with an average of 10.848.000 viewers per night, with over 40 milion contacts.  Conti has also done better every year: 48,6% in 2015, 49,6% in 2016 and now 50,7% in 2017. Sadly he's not returning for 2018.... And to stop the bad mouthing and false rumours about his salary he donated his paycheck (after taxes) 100.000 euro to the earthquake victims. it's worth remembering also Maria De Filippi was borrowed from the enemy television empire Mediaset for free.

ITALY: SANREMO CONTINUES WITH SUCCESS: 47,1%

The television audience success continues and last night's, 4th night, average was 47,1% or 9.877.000 viewers, varieting from 11.674.000 (45,68%) in the part part and 6.177.000 (53,20%) in the second part after midnight. Over 8 million viewers watched the beginning of the show with the newcomers. The share went up to over 50% during the awarding the newcomer and over 25,5 million Italians watched the show at least for a moment during the night.

ITALY: SANREMO 2017 SUCCESS CONTINUES WITH 49,5%

This year's Sanremo festival is really enjoying a great success and no wonder, carlo Conti and Maria De Filippi work well together, the guests are interesting and variable and Italians even like the comedians in between. Last night an average of 10.420.000 viewers watched the show, 49,5% share. Tho show peaked at 15.578.000  scoring 55,12% share. A bit better than last year. And the best 3rd night result since 2011.

ITALY: SANREMO 2017 PEAKS AT 27,3 MILLION VIEWERS!

It's a success. Already on the first night the 67th Sanremo festival is proving to be a winning formula with Carlo Conti and Maria De Filippi. Last night was the highest share in 12 years, 50,4% or in average 11,4 million viewers. A total of 27,3 million hits during the night or people who have at least had a peak what's going on in Teatro Ariston.  Ricky Martin brought the audience share up to peak at 57,1%. Also the after show DopoFestival enjoyed a great success, the highest audience since 2003! Carlo Conti comments the success with "we still have four nights to go on, Let's see after!" And he confirms this is his last festival. Shame! This blogger thinks he's been an excellent host and artistic director these three years.

ESC 2015: 197.000.000 VIEWERS

The numbers are out, nearly 200 million watched the Eurovision song contest 2015 from Vienna, EBU's exact number being 197 million in 40 countries. The final also more than doubled the usual Saturday night share (16,4%) considering all countries with 39,6% share. Compared to the 2014 edition it's 6% increase and 2 million extra people.  The statistic also reveal an 8% increase in young viewers (15-24) with 44,8% share. Usually the Saturday night prime time share in the age group is only 11,1%! Iceland as usual scored the highest share with 95,5%, while Sweden was second when 85,6% of Swedes turned to watch Måns Z bring the victory for Sweden for the sixth time.  The host country Austria scored 59,9% share. May sound little but it's the highest in the last decade for any TV audience in the country! In short: A success!

SANREMO 2015: HALF OF ITALIANS TURNED IN WITH SANREMO LAST NIGHT

Carlo Conti's Sanremo has had a good start, better than last year's edition. Half of Italian TV-audience chose the festival to watch. Last night's show was watched in average by 13.210.000 viewers and 49% share in the first part of the show, the second was instead 6.461.000 and 52%. The average for the whole show was 11.685.000 or 49,63%.  The contacts were 25.870.000 (whatever that means? The same as in Eurovision or those who turned in at least for a minute to watch?). That's about half a million better than last year in tv-audience but a little less in contacts.... More details (in Italian) here . You can check artist by artist how many viewers turned in to watch their performance (Malika scored highest here with 15.361.000) and in the second list by every artist and the peak share during their performance per minute. Here surprisingly Gradia Di Michele & Mauro Coruzzi got the most interest followed by Lara Fabian. Apparently people were not impressed after ...
