Slovenia's EMA is back. A jury panel will pick up two songs for the superfinal where the televote alone determinates the winner. Raiven is back again, and Ula from Junior Eurovision 2014 debuts among adults. Actually she's one of the very, very few Jesc artists that I actually remember, Nisi sam was great! I think I know who I am supporting, at least until I hear the songs! Georgia wins the 14th Junior Eurovision song contest with Mariam Mamadashvili's Mzeo . It's their third win already. She took a strong lead with the adult jury and despite placing only 6th with the kids jury she kept her lead and eventually won. Armenia was second and Italy third.  This is the result fo the grown up jury. A very convincing lead for Georgia....  Christer gave Georgia 5 and his 12 to Belarus....  ... Jedward gave their 12 to Russia and Georgia 6..... ... Mads gave Georgia only 1 and his 12 to Italy.... ... but Georgia kept its lead and wins by 17 points over Armenia, the kids favorite. The 13th Junior Eurovision song contest will take place tonight in Sofia, Bulgaria, as last year's runner up as Italy turned down to host the show. All of 17 countries are taking part, the highest number since the second edition in 2004 with 18. In 2012-2013 the number had dropped to 12 and the whole contest was becoming a minor joke. New people in charge have made a miracle and in the recent days there have been talks of the Baltic states and France maybe joining in next year.... We will see! It's no secret this blogger has never warmed up to this, and thus also this year I'm having a look what's in offer just when the rehearsals are already on and the final nearly here. I won't even see the final live as I will be doing something else but may catch up watching the show later on .... The 9th edition of the Junior Eurovision song contest took place tonight in Malta. Sixteen countries with three debutants (Italy, Montenegro, Slovenia) took the stage this time with kids between 10 and 15 years performing the songs. Beautifully staged show went on smoothly and the songs were pretty good, well, some of them. The internet voting was a disaster though and didn't happen at all. Italy debuted and won with Vincenzo Cantiello's Tu primo grande amore . Full results above. It's coming again after all, the troubled Junior Eurovision song contest. The 2013 edition is the 11th and EBU has managed to lure in 12 countries, same as last year's 12 but yet far cry for the record of 18 in its second editon back in 2004. San Marino joins in while Albania, Belgium and Israel stay home this time. Macedonia and Malta on the other hand return so one could say there's a real revolving door.... Kiyv is the host city this year and the final's on November 30, 2013 . The host will be again Timur Miroshnychenko who did the job already in 2009 when he was joined by Ani Lorak. Now he gets Zlata Ognevich to his side. For the first time it's not happening at 9pm CET but more sensible time slot for the kiddos. Also, for the first time there will be awards for the top-3 and not the winner only. As an added bonus apparently the winner will also be involved in the real Eurovision song contest in May 2014 in Copenhagen somehow... Will that breath life to thi...

Tonight the troubled Junior Eurovision song contest takes place for the 8th time. If someone wonders why I haven't written about it before it's by precise decision. Frankly, I don't care about kids singing, even if I have to admit the past couple of years after they changed the age limits and older kids have been a majority it has been a bit better and last year's winner from the Netherlands was very good, and in 2008 Belgium's Oliver, too, just to name some names. This year I haven't yet heard one single song so tonight I will watch it online and get the average European viewer's approach to Eurovision: hear the songs once only! More information here .
