Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

We have another returnee besides Marco Mengoni (Italy) in Liverpool's Eurovision song contest. Monika Linkyte won Pabandom iš naujo! 2023 with Stay. She placed 18th in 2015 with Vaidas Baumila, and has tried to come back several times since.  Monika is 30 years old and has released one studio album so far in 2015. That earned her local Grammys as best album, best song and best female artist. She has released about 20 singles/EPs. Results (jury + televote) 1. Monika Liu kept her perfect score - full points in Heat 3, in semi-final 2 and in the grand final with her Sentimentai! And for the first time since 1999 we will be hearing Lithuanian language in the Eurovision song contest! Monika Liubinauté (34) studied jazz in University of Klaipéda, her birth town before continuing studies in Berklee Collage of Music in Boston and lived also in London awhile before moving back to Lithuania and Vilnius. Recently she has made herself known as a judge in The Voice of Lithuania and a panelist in Masked Singer. She has released three albums so far and almost a dozen singles. Pabandom iš naujo! is back for 2022 and January sees the start of six shows where 36 become one and travels to Turin 2022 Eurovision. Among the hopefuls we have several familiar names, including four ladies who have already done the honors: Erika Jennings (with SKAMP 2001), Ieva Zasimauskaité (2018), Monika Linkyté (2015 with Vaidas Baumila) and Vilija Matačiūnaitė (2014). All of them have also participated several times in the national selection as well so they are true veterans. But that's not all. There are also other familiar names trying to win it for the first time like last year's runner up Gebrasy, Aldegunda, Cosmic Bride, Titas ir Benas, last year's third Voldemars Petersons and more.   The Roop won last night the revamped Lithuanian national selection Pabandom is naujo! for the Eurovision song contest 2020 in Rotterdam. Their On fire was the the winner for the jury and televoters alike with their original performance and choreography. The lead Vaidotas Valiukevičius  is a fabulous creature and I just adore his warm voice. They manage to be original and likable without being ridiculous or something like that even if the danger of that is just around the corner all the time. Lithuania's Pabandom iš naujo! Nacionalinė Eurovizijos Atranka 2020, the revamped national selection for Eurovision has had its two semi-finals where only four entries out of nine made the final. The first semi was won by Aisté Pilvelyté followed by THE ROOP, KaYra and Rūta Loop.
