Sanremo giovani final is titled Sarà Sanremo (It will be Sanremo) will air tonight from Casinò di Sanremo  and six artists have made it this far after submissions (a total of 524), auditions, four weekly selections and a semi-final and two of them will win the ticket to Sanremo 2026 newcomers section tonight along with two artists from Area Sanremo selection picked out of 505 submissions. They were announced yesterday and are Mazzariello and Soniko, Blind & El Ma trio.  Angelica Bove made it already last year to the final but didn't make it to the top-4 losing the duel to eventual winner Settembre. Mazzariello on the other hand was eliminated by Angelica in a semi-final duel. She did also X Factor 2023. Antonia made the final of Amici earlier this year finishing 4th. The Sanremo 2026 had launched the selection for the artists and the very first phase of Sanremo Giovani has got the 524 submissions to 34 who will now have a live audition in front of the jury who will pick up the 24 for the live five shows on Rai2 hosted by Gianluca Gazzoli from November 11, 2025. After three shows on December 9 there will be a semi-final where from only six will reach the final Sarà Sanremo on December 14, 2025. They will be joined by two lucky ones selected through Area Sanremo who will be selected in early December. Those two from Area Sanremo have already their ticket to Teatro Ariston in February at that point along with two selected in that final so in total the Newcomers section in Sanremo 2026 will have four artists. Tonight's the night for Sanremo giovani semi-final where the 12 become six for the final. ( Read more here ). The songs have been out in the platforms awhile now and the most streams so far has Settembre (1.865.600), followed by Alex Wyse, Tancredi, Mazzariello and Mew - all between 340.000 and 444.000. Sanremo giovani will be a multi evening affair again and on top of that the separate Sanremo Giovani or newcomers final will be held in Sanremo 2025 festival giving us two winners again in 2025 rather than only one - as it should be if you ask me. Just think about some names that have won the newcomers before making it to the Big category: Eros Ramazzotti, Laura Pausini, Andrea Bocelli and Francesco Gabbani. Just to name a few. There will be four heats on November 12, 19, 26 and December 3 presented by Eurovision host Alessandro Cattelan each with six participants, three making it further. The semi-final takes place on December 10 and the 12 will become six.  The final takes place on December 18. The six will become three, and also the two selected by AreaSanremo selection will battle out between them for the last spot. Mahmood famously won Sanremo giovani 2018 securing a spot in the Sanremo 2019 line up and went on to win it with Soldi, and placing 2nd at the Eurovision , not so far behind eventual winner Duncan Laurence. This year three acts will earn a place in the Sanremo 2024 line up with 27 other acts, including Mahmood aiming for his third win, along with previous Eurovision entrants Ricchi e Poveri ( ESC 1978 ), Emma ( ESC 2014 ), Il Volo ( ESC 2015 ) and Diodato who missed his chance in 2020 when the contest was cancelled. Mahmood may be an exception to have had such success among the Sanremo giovani qualifiers but this year we may have another one that could maybe go all the way. Area Sanremo 2022 has short cut and auditioned the chosen ones in November. The age limit for artists is between 16 and 30 and each had to have to original songs to present: one for the Sanremo Giovani and another for eventual festival di Sanremo 2023. Those who took part in Sanremo Giovani selection could not apply for Area Sanremo. Out of 549 submissions the 46 below were invited for the live auditions. Out of these 46 only four will make it to Sanremo Giovani selection along with eight ones from Sanremo Giovani selection , and out of these 12 only three will make it to Teatro Ariston and the festival next February. The Sanremo 2023 has officially started with the list of those 43 names that has made the cut to be invited for live auditions out of 714 submissions. Only eight of these will make it to Casinò di Sanremo in December, joined by four other names through AreaSanremo selections, and out of these 12 three will join the Big names next February and who knows, one of them could win it all and end up in Liverpool! Just like last year each has two songs, the one here and one for Sanremo that the commission has of course heard already, or will hear soon enough. One can't not stress that song has also a lot of weight in choosing the eight. Among the names are some very familiar ones, like Alfa, fresh from dueting with Rosa Linn in Snap , gIANMARIA, Enula and many more from various talent and reality shows, or other contests. Sanremo 2022 kicks off tonight when finally the 12 become 2 and those two join the Sanremo 2022 Big cast. Meanwhile there was a rumor Amadeus might be adding another two Big names in the cast as well to make it 26 in total. Veteran names like Alice (!!!), Ron, Nada, Marcella Bella, Ricchi e Poveri, Riccardo Fogli, Luca Barbarossa and Anna Tatangelo, or newcomers like Ariete and Mara Sattei, or will he add the newcomers winners from past two years Leo Gassman and Gaudiano after all? Or more superpower to the already stellar cast with Francesco Gabbani, Elodie or Diodato? Or Giovanni Caccamo with a song written by late Franco Battiato? Matteo Andrea's son Bocelli? Simona Molinari? The long selections via Sanremo Giovani and Area Sanremo have ended after auditions and out of over 1000 submissions these 12 will feature in the live broadcast on Raiuno in December. The top-2 will be added to the Sanremo Big category line up and have a chance to win the whole festival and represent Italy at the Eurovision. Just like Mahmood in 2018-19. Sanremo 2022 artists come from three different submissions: First the newcomers (over 700, read more here ) and Area Sanremo choose the 12 finalists for Sanremo Giovani, wherefrom two lucky ones get the ticket to the Big, and only, category in Sanremo 2022 itself, where the artists are chosen from submissions and invites from artistic director Amadeus & co.  Area Sanremo gets four of its chosen artists to the Giovani final instead of two as previous years. The submissions were over 400, and after auditions  56 made it to further auditions on November 19-21, where from only 20 will make it to the next step. Yet another audition in front of Amadeus & co. will pick up the 4 for Sanremo Giovani live on television on December 15. They will join the eight chosen via Sanremo Giovani selections. Sanremo 2021 Giovani will provide two names for the Big category in next Sanremo festival and therefor could become also the Italian Euroviison entry in Torino 2022. Out of over 700 submissions 46 names were announced instead of planned 30 due to "high standard of submissions". The auditions will take place in Rome and only eight will make it to the live television show in December. As usual among the names are quite a few already familiar names with some success in their CV. For example Blind, a rapper who has already sold platinum after his third place in X Factor. From last year's Sanremo we have Matteo Faustini, and Giulia Mutti from 2018. From X Factor also Mydrama and Manitoba, from Amici Enula and from The Voice Thomas Cheval trying again.
