Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

The second semi-final took place last night and from the very amateurish studio setting and graphics straight from the 1990's, non existing make up and poor sound with apparent problems for the singers another five songs made it to the final by telephone voting. Not that I agree. YLE is hosting the annual Nenäpäivä (Red nose day) charity marathon tonight on its channels. Money will be connected all night long for the needy and top singers and actors will provide entertainement, amongst them Hanna Pakarinen, Kaija Koo, Maija Villkkumaa, Irina, Pete Parkkonen, Antti Tuisku, Johanna Pakonen, Veeti Kallio and Katri Helena who will break her long "holiday" away from the business before hitting the road again with Christmas concerts.

More ladies! Chisu is added here as I'm an optimist.... Heli Kajo charmed the fans in Euroviisut 2010 and is about to release her debut album before Christmas. Hopefully there's another little pop song like Annankadun kulmassa that would fit Euroviisut.... Chisu . Do I need to ad more? She's perfect. She has it all. She's like an Eurovision wetdream. Some Eurovision in this one, Yölintu's song is a cover of L'Amour est bleu and then we have both Jari Sillanpää and Johanna Pakonen here. Juha Tapio has one of his many songs in this list here and Aki Sirkesalo one of his very few. He was killed by the tsunami in Thailand. The listeners of Iskelmäradio or Schlager radio, a popular middle of the road channel playing  almost only Finnish music, have been voting the best Finnish songs of 2000-2009 and over the midsummer weekend the results were played in marathon programmes. I will publish the list over this July and hope you will find some new artists, and some good songs. Beware, it's very schlager! 88 different singers or bands got their songs in. One got in 12 songs, three others 11, and 2 more acts got 9 and 8 songs and to complete the dominators 7 acts got 7 songs in. That's 43% of the songs by 15 acts! Who they are and how many Eurovision songs are there, you will find out by July 31!  In this first part we have amongst others Johanna Pakonen, Tapani Kansa and Eija Kantola - all Euroviisut participants.
