Ira Losco covers Cyndi Lauper

Ira Losco who took Malta to 2nd place back in 2002 Eurovision with 7th wonder has had a very succesful career ever since. But now she has covered Cyndi Lauper's classic Time after time like this . Maybe she shouldn't. Or is it only me? Much better job is done by Ronan Keating . And Eva Cassidy . Even Miles Davis .

Some Irish rumours: Niamh's comeback?

RTÉ is supposed to reveal the five finalist in the Irish final tomorrow, a month before the final where we will find out who's going to sing for Ireland in Oslo 2010. Some names have leaked already who are in the running. Boyzone guys Ronan Keating (who has also a song in the Danish final again) and Mikey Graham have both submitted a song. Ronan's would be sung by British Justin Lee-Collins while Mikey will sing his own song if selected. Last year's winners Niall Mooney and Swedish Jonas Gladnikoff are back, this time their song would be sung by the 1993 Eurovision winner Niamh Kavanagh. Other previous winners have also submitted songs: Brendan Graham (Eurovision 1993 and 1996 winner), Karl Broderick (Irish winner 2005), John Waters (Irish winner 2007). Swedish Alexander Bard (Army of Lovers, BWO etc) has also sent a song, so has LaGaylia Frazer (after not winning in Sweden and Romania previously). And yes, good old Ralph Siegel is back at it, too. He's aiming to gp for...

Denmark: Here are the finalists 2010

Denmark is one of the few countries having a good old fashioned one off final. Ten acts will be competing for the ticket to Oslo and amongst song writers we have again Ronan Keating and Thomas G:son is involved in two entries. N'evergreen and Sukkerchok return. Bryan Rice, Sukkerchok and Kaya Brüel are DR's wildcards, the other songs are chosen from the open call. Here they are: Bryan Rice - Breathing Joakim Tranberg - All about a girl MariaMathilde Band - Panik! Simone - How will I know Jens Marni - Gloria Chanée & N'evergreen - In a moment like this Kaya Brüel - Only tonight Thomas Barsøe - Just like rain Sukkerchok - Kæmper For Kærlighed Silas & Kat - Come come run away

Italy's lost chances: Vorrei incontrarti fra cent'anni (1996)

Well, I'm not sure if Ron & Tosca's duet Vorrei incontrarti fra cent'anni would have done well in Eurovision but it's a lovely little song anyways. The craziness of the runner ups Elio e le storie tese would have been a no-no  but then we have again Giorgia scoring a respectable third place right after her victory a year before and again Ivana Spagna with Strano il mio destino and E io penso a te , both would have been perfect entries. The previous Eurovision stars didn't do so well again: Al Bano 7th, Luca Barbarossa 12th, Enrico Ruggeri 15th and Riccardo Fogli 20th.

BRINCK FOR DENMARK!

Niels Brinck has won the Dansk Melodi grand prix 2009 superfinal against Hera Björk with Believe again , a song co-written by Irish Ronan Keating. Also Hera's song has interesting authors: a group of Danish and Swedish Eurofans! Congrats to everyone, especially you guys! This said, I think Believe again was a better choise. It's very catchy, easy on the ear and memorable. In short it sounds like a hit and might go very far in Moscow.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uAeF2QgQ8Ro The Danish televoters first chose 4 songs to be paired and Hera Björk beat Sukkerchok and Brinck beat Johnny Deluxe in this round. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pexBmEk262A , http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hmuTvkY-YH8 , http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FejRRzd9rAc , http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GToi8F7yDX4 , http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DqjsMskz-Nk , http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TC42erX21K8 , http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KwUgqsPLB-Y , http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nRd0V2VhHLc , http://www.youtub...
