Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

Sweden's Melodifestivalen 2017 has reached its final semifinal, of the season that has been in my books the worst ever but apparently some Euroboys are also waking up and seeing what it is as there have been some complaint online as well about the level of the songs. I have to say I don't even like the stage that much this year, nor the presenting trio.  But tonight it's all about Loreen. She's trying to tell everywhere she doesn't care about the competition but we all know she has to win. And then she has to win in Kyiv, anything else would be a failure and flop. To save her skin and her legend like  status she's gained among fans she'd better lose in Sweden, become a victim and shine her euphoric crown again.... But let's see how the full song is as the snippet is rather confusing and unmelodic to sound like an Eurovision winner. Otherwise this fourth semi is maybe the most deecent of them all. I'm curious to hear Jon Henrik's effort in ...

In three weeks we will know the participating artists for the 2017 Melodifestivalen and the rumour mill is going wild in Sweden as usual. While names like Ace Wilder, Wiktoria, Mariette, Lisa Ajax, Robin Bengtsson, Boris René and Elisa Lindström are rumored to be back along with newcomers The Fooo Conspiracy, Ida LaFontaine, Axel Schylström, John Lundvik and Alice Svensson the most curious rumour is about Tommy Körberg teaming up with Dead by April ! Now that sounds interesting.... However, the only sure name in the line up remains Les Gordons , thnk to Svensktoppen Nästa.  Apparently Christer Björkman wants both Wiktoria and Mariette in but they both seem to be missing the right song still. He also wanted The Fooo Conspiracy already in for 2016 but they said Nej tack and tried to break through in the US instead. Now they are available...  Tommy and DbA have indeed recorded a song but Tommy hasn't yet agreed to present it in Melodifestivalen but Christer wants i...

The Eurovision 2017 season has been officially open for two weeks now and some countries have already closed their submissions and started working on the material, like Finland where YLE is once again keeping quiet about the number of entries and all the rest. The artists will be notified their fate by the end of October and most probably the rest of us will know the selected ones only in January.  In Denmark the Eurovision fever is high despite failing to make the final this year and even their entrant Lighthouse X is also history as they broke up earlier this summer. A total of 1.115 entries were submitted, a new record. France is looking for a new Amir , aka following this year's successful format of finding an artist and a song that could be a hit already before we know it's the one for the Eurovision.  Submissions are open in Estonia and sadly they are opening up for non-native authors so that's where all the Melodifestivalen rejects will end up. Luckily ...
