ITALY: SANREMO 2024, LA PRIMA SERATA - THE FIRST NIGHT'S RUNNING ORDER - ALL 30 ACTS

Tonight's the first night of the 74th Sanremo and unlike the previous years all 30 acts will perform tonight. Prepaire yourself for a long long night! How the voting is tonight and the coming night you can read in detail here .  I will follow tonight and comment and judge the songs live so do come back and join in the fun. Before the live show from Tatro Ariston di Sanremo at 20.40 CET we have a Primafestival at 20.30 CET. It all should end at 1.30 CET (believe it if you dare!) and it's followed by Via Raidue! ... Viva Sanremo until 2.25 CET. That's six hours for tonight, lol. Tonight's running order has been revealed and it is below. Apparently the last ones tonight will be the first ones tomorrow and day after tomorrow in reverse order. Maybe. (In brackets the odds this afternoon. You may notice all the favorites (1-10) are more or less grouped together in the first half of the show, with some midtable entries (11-20) in between and the underdogs have to perform la...

EUROVISION 2023: IT'S THE FINAL - TATTOO VS. CHA CHA CHA - OR DO WE HAVE A SURPRISE?

Tonight's the night. Will Sweden's Loreen become the very first female (and only second) Eurovision winner to take the trophy again? And bring Sweden its 7th victory that equals Ireland's record. Or will Finland manage to win against all odds after all and take its second victory? Finland's Käärijä with Cha cha cha stormed to top all polls and odds once it was published late January and only Sweden managed to pass it when it was released over a month later. Sweden tops the odds while Finland tops the Eurovision scoreboard app. It is commonly believed Finland wins the televote but Sweden the jury vote. How will it be? It's been all so much about these two countries that other countries have been completely over shadowed by the whole duel. Could we have a surprise winner and in that case who? Here are the song, with the odds top-10 (when writing this) videos displayed, for the other click the title. In brackets the odds placement 24 hrs before the final. 1. AUSTRIA - ...

EUROVISION 2018: TONIGHT'S THE NIGHT!

Here we go again. The day has arrived. Tonight we know if the gang in the bubble is packing their summer gear again and will have sunny beach Eurovision in Cyprus or maybe Israel , or will they be in rainy Ireland or shores of Baltic in Lithuania or Germany , in the busy city beat of Paris or having some slow food in Torino ? Or maybe somewhere else no one even thinks about just now? I for one don't have a clue! I don't think I havee been this clueless ever. (I say that every year I know and in the end it's all clear and as I thought but at this point it's hard to believe...) I have my favorites of course but are they the ones I think will win? Maybe not.  This might be the last Eurovision I am blogging, so I'm taking it easy. Go get some pastel de nata from Helsinki's Portuguese bakery and some vinho verde , sit back and enjoy the show. Below are the odds at the moment writing this (Saturday morning 9.30 CET). Let's see how write they are th...

And then this happened...... After second recap  After first recap

ESC 2017 KYIV - DAY 14: PORTUGAL AGAIN ON TOP IN ODDS

One hour and 10 minutes to the start of the show, Portugal has climbed again to #1 in odds, Italy second.

ESC 2017 KYIV - DAY 14: ITALY RETURNS TO #1 IN ODDS AND EBU BANS PORTUGALS JUMPER

The news from the bubble tell EBU has banned Portugal's Salvador Sobral's S.O.S. Refugees jumper he has been wearing - and talking about the refugees, as apparently it send s a political message. This just one year after in Stockholm the interval act was all about refugees.... I'm buzzled.... Meanwhile Portugal also loses the #1 spot in the odds as Italy returns to number one after some 12 hours or so.... :-)

EUROVISION 2017 FINAL TONIGHT - WHO'S GOING TO WIN?

The 62nd Eurovision song contest airs from Kyiv, Ukraine tonight 9PM CET. 26 countries made it this far and are competing for the glass trophy. The odds are telling a battle between Italy and Portugal, followed by Bulgaria, Belgium and Sweden to complete the Top-5. We will see how this ends.... Should Portugal win it will be it's first while their entry is their 50th since 1964. Their best placing to date is 6th in 1996 so whatever happens Portugal is set have its best placing ever. Portugal skipped last year to "think it over" and it worked. Bulgaria has participated ten times before but reached the final only twice placing 4th and 5th, so when they do final they do good. They also skipped a couple of years before returning last year with their best placing yet, 4th. Will they also do better tonight? Italy is after its third victory (1964, 1990) after the disappointment in 2015 when the they won the televote but juries pushed Il Volo to the third place. They...
