Moldova had the auditions to their submitted entries and not surprisingly Sasha Bognibov didn't make it while Boris Covali and Eurovision veterans Sunstroke Project did with 12 other lucky ones. From the semifinal eight acts will qualify for the final; four chosen my expert jury, four my televoters. Cobilea Constantin was disqualified when it was found out his songs was an old one, and he was replaced by Nadia Mosneaga. Irina Kit withdraw without any given reason. So, it happened. Boris Covali didn't win this time either when Cristina Scarlat snapped the victory from him helped by the jury with Wild soul. Televotes: Jury votes:

Moldova has its first (out of two) semifinals tonight. Eight out of 12 will make the final - seven my a mixture of 50-50 tlevote/jury vote. The eight entry is the highesst scoring entry in televotes that didn't make the cut. The second semifinal will take place Thursday and the final next Saturday. This year has not been an exception what comes to scandals. Apparently Boris Covali qualified with and preferred his other song but it was changed to this one. The singer in Flux Light seems to be Olia Tira. Diana Brescan seems to be the favorite but I'm fond of the two ballads in Moldovan by Alina and Ana. Of the rest I really don't have an opinion or anything to say. Moldova has concluded the first round of their selection where 59 became 40 became 59 after protests became 24 for the semifinal on March 11 and 13, 2014.  I suspect this list could be also the ranking order the jury made.... And the songs keep on coming. Tonight also the 40 (chosen out of 61) Moldovan songs are online here . Included are also the songs that seem to be also in the running in Lithuania, thus breaking the rules over there. Then there's also a Adam what-do-you-want-from-me Lambert wannabe...Let's see how this ends.  Among the hopefuls there some familiar names and even some good songs! These 40 will have to perform their songs live for a jury that then picks up the 24 semifinalists. This takes place next Saturday, February 1, 2014. The semifinals wil take place on March 11 and 13, and the final on March 15. Two songs made me listen and enjoy them to the finishing notes, Margarita Ciorici's Vis , and Alina Sorochina's Ascultă-mă tăcere. Both ballads in Moldovan. They showed one can get good results even with that recipe so why not continue also this year?  UPDATE 30.1.2014:   Moldovan Tv has indeed made some mistakes and therefor accepts the already dropped 21 songs in...

Here it is. Since September 2012 we have been picking up names, national selections, semifinals, second chances, internal selections, changed songs, gossip, speculation, rumors and now it all comes to an end. This blogger alone has followed at least 23 finals or presentations, countless semifinals, over 22 hours of Sanremo festival live.... Somehow I'm happy it's over for another year! :-) It seems Macedonia has settled with this and Italy needs to confirm their song but the very last real national final takes place in Moldova, giving us the last piece of the puzzle that is the Eurovision song contest 2013. And the Moldovan final isn't bad at all! My favorite is Boris but if Aliona or Cristina Scarlat wins, that's ok, too. And I can live with Croitoru & Karizma, too, even if does lack a lot of charisma... Moldova will be the last country this year to have it's national final this Saturday. Tonight they had their first semifinal and the second one will follow on Thursday, it's like the real Eurovision week! Hooray! 12 songs were performed and five were kicked out tonight. Quite frankly I haven't paid much attention to them but here are the qualifiers: Boris Covali - Runaways Aliona Moon - A million   Doinitsa Gherman - Planeta e un Rai   Negruta Vitalie - You 'll be mine Felicia Dunaf - Codename Felice Cristina V & Glam Girls - Celebrate Svetlana Bogdanova - Conquer my heart     I think I like most Runaways against all odds, it's the Swedish sounding song we don't have in Eurovision yet this year!

Moldovan TV has started to publish their national final entries online today here .  Out of these first nine this blogger liked more or less with the first hearing Boris Covali (sounds actually like something from Melodifestivalen, in a good old school way this time, Pernilla & Jan anyone?), Aliona Moon and Cristina Croituru & Karizma, Generally pretty decent songs this time!

Moldovan TV has fallen victim of a procedure that rarely if never gives good results. They have picked up singers and they have picked up songs and now they are supposed to be coupled in some way. But who know, maybe they will find the winnning formula there?  A jusry of 8, including Nelly Ciobanu and Geta Burlacu have shortlisted 24 singers or rather 23 singers and one duo featuring already very wellknown and familiar names in Eurovision circuit, Cristina Croitoru & Karizma (pictured). Both have tried several times so will they finally win when they have joined forces? Also Boris Covali and Doiniţa Gherman have tried their luck before, and Aliona Moon was one of the funny backing singers/dancers for Pasha Parfeny last year. And then we have a total of 59 songs, all in English except three, with fancy titles like You'll be main, Bang bang bang, Coma, Freaky thong, Hi-Ho, L.o.v.e. love, Tornado and .. ehm, You never listen . A total of 126 was sent in this year. To tell ...
