Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

The 67th Festival della canzone Italiana will start it's five nights long journey tonight at 20.30 CET with Primafestival, followed by the show itself and continued with DopoFestival... A long night! Carlo Conti will be wearing Salvatore Ferragamo as usual, Maria De Filippi at least tonight Givenchy, because Sanremo isn't only music, comedy, sports, politics, movies and everything else in between it's also fashion! Because Sanremo is Sanremo! Tiziano Ferro will open the show with a hommage to Luigi Tenco ( read more here ) singing his Mi sono innamorato di te , and then with Carmen Consoli his latest single Conforto . Ricky Martin will perform a medley of hits, Clean Bandit is the third musical guest tonight. Actors Raul Bova, Rocio Munoz Morales, Paola Cortellesi and Antonio Albanese are among other guests tonight. The 67th Festival della canzone Italiana aka Sanremo festival kicks off tonight in Sanremo's Teatro Ariston and after the five night event we will know who's the new winner and eventually the Italian represant in the Eurovision song contest 2017 in Kyiv in May. Carlo Conti is hosting the show with Maria De Filippi . Italian superstar Tiziano Ferro will be one of the guest stars performing also with Carmen Consoli . Ricky Martin and Clean Bandit are there, too. So are actors Paola Cortellesi , Antonio Albanese and Keanu Reeves . Comedian  Maurizio Crozza will entertain, too.  As for the competition 11 of the 22 Big will present their songs for the very first time. There will be 50-50 televote-press jury (or the media in press center) and eight will be saved. The bottom three will be out for the time being and will have a second chance on Thursday night. More guest stars have been revealed for the coming Sanremo festival. Besides before announced Tiziano Ferro and Carmen Consoli, Mika, Giorgia, Ricky Martin, Rag'n Bone Man, Zucchero, Piccolo Coro dell'Antoniani, comedian Maurizio Crozza we can now ad also actor Raul Bova with his wife, actress and ex-Sanremo host Rocio Munoz Morales, Biffy Clyro, Clean Bandit and Robbie Williams. Oh and talking about Robbie Williams, he surely could bring UK back to some Eurovision glory with something like Love my life . That screams a perfect Eurovision entry, doesn't it? Anyways, it's hardly likely we will ever see him do it, but maybe he could write a song? Or better yet; should UK win one day soon this blogger demands him as the host! He's just about the only one who could top Petra & Måns in that department. Period. 

    Today the Sanremo festival had its first official press conference and Carlo Conti announced Maria De Filippi as his co-hostess. The king od Rai and the Queen of Mediaset will have a joint adventure so get ready for Maria's rolling "r" and very, very deep voice. She's borrowed from the competing channel for free so she doesn't get paid by Rai or the taxpayers.  Maybe that's why she didn't look very happy today hardly ever smiling and looking rather miserable most of the time....No other hosts or "vallette" will be walking down the legendary staircase, so Sanremo becomes very much like Eurovision with a hosting couple doing the job alone. The stage (have a look at the video here ) is already being built and will be very technological as they are these days giving "each song a different look and feel" so this is also very Eurovision, isn't it? It seems the circle is closing as Eurovision was born from the idea...
