FINLAND/POLAND: KASIA MOS FEAT. NORMA JOHN PRESENT WILD EYES

The beauty of Eurovision is that sometimes the competing artists become friends, start collaborating and performing together at times, and sometimes even end up in a recording studio together. Like last year's Polish Katia Mos and Finland's Norma John. The result is atmospheric Wild eyes . Enjoy!

POLAND: KRAJOWE ELIMINACJE FINAL TONIGHT

Pokand's Karjowe Eliminacje takes place tonight and Isabel Otrebus is the fan favorite. A five meber professional jury and televoters will choose the winner and there will be performances by last year's Kasia Mos, 2004's Blue Cafe and Eurovision winner Måns Zelmerlöw. I'm not keen on any of the songs really at this point so I will just sit and back and see what happens.... Saszan – Nie chcę ciebie mniej Monika Urlik – Momentum Isabel Otrebus – Delirium Ifi Ude – Love is stronger Future Folk – Krakowiacy i górale Gromee feat. Lukas Meijer – Light me up Marta Gałuszewska – Why don’t we go Pablosson – Sunflower Maja Hyży – Skin Happy Prince – Don’t let go

ESC 2017 KYIV - DAY 5: POLAND SECOND REHEARSAL

We continue with the blue theme as Poland walks on stage with water spraying (?)  with her violinist and white long dress that reveals more skin than the previous one. Add windmachine. That's it. Yawn. Boring. Oh, flock of birds! Some dogs. Her agitated moving isn't helping things either. Vocally ok but... the song is so boring.  This Poland underlines this year's trend: back to basics. Gone are the complicated choreographies and tons of props in general and so many are just standing in one spot belting out their song. Nothing wrong wit that, it's actually kinda refreshing but one needs an interesting song, too.

ESC 2017 KYIV - DAY 2: POLAND FIRST REHEARSAL

Poland's Kasia wears a white seethrough dress with her eg in display (why am I thinking Samantha Jones?) that is maybe her big dress, she has also another one to prove before deciding. She has also a violinist to keep her company on that big stage. Stars, dogs (??) doves and word Freedom in the backdrop. Apparently somewhat lighter presentation than the very dark and gloomy video. Vocally she can deliver, we know that by now, but I still don't care for the song that much. Polish diaspora will most likely push this into the final though and take a place from some more deserving one. Sadly.

ESC 2017 REVIEW- POLAND (32): KASIA MOS - FLASHLIGHT

Pictures the national flower of Poland, poppy Kasia Moś won the Polish national final Krajowe Eliminacje 2017 with Flashlight . She was jury's favorite and televoters placed her second. She has co-written the song with Pete Baringger and Rickard Bonde Truumeel. Katarzyna "Kasia" Moś (30) is yet another "third time lucky" Eurovision wanna be having tried already in 2006 and last year. She has studied at Frederic Chopin music schhol has a degree in both cello and piano, and also jazz and contemporary music. She has worked her way through various music groups, projects and talent shows and ended up in Los Angeles in Pussycat Dolls Burlesque Revue for a couple of years. Her debut album came out in 2015. Flashlight is one of the many midtempo female songs that are apparently rather modern here in the bottom of my ranking list. I kinda like it when I hear it but then after it's soon forgotten. It doesn't crab me in any way. But this is one of th...
