Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

Rai has published the Sanremo 2019 Giovani entries. With a quick listen through this blogger didn't quite find anything to be extremely excited about but below you can see my pick of those 24 entries that got my attention for more than 30 seconds for a reason or another. I don't usually agree that much with the jury that will pick up the 24 for the shows also because they have to keep in mind to get some variety and balancee between male/female/groups - or so I wish they do! If half of these make it to the tv I consider it a success for me ;-p You can listen to all entries HERE . Two of these artists will be selected in a prime time tv show in December to join the Big category and could become Italy's Eurovision song contest 2019 entrant. However, they must present in Teatro Ariston in Sanremo with a new song come February...   Serbia returns to national final format after many years and reborn Beovizija will take place on February 20. Among artist Eurovision veteran Rambo Amadeus and Eurovision winning composer Vladimir Graic.... and Marija Serifovic's step brother Danijel. A lot of Slavic melancholy in offer but this blogger loves it so this is proving one of the most pleasant national finals this year, I've missed all these Balcan ballads! But there are other sounds in offer, too, from SevdahBaby, Lord and some others.... When writing this the most views on Youtube has Sanja & co....   Hungary has released the entries for A Dal 2018. There's no Origo this year that would really stick out with the first hearing but my 30 second first hearing found a few that could prove worthy in the further hearings and if presented well live on stage. Most of all Yesyes and #yeahla . Otherwise the songs can be easily almost all be put in three categories: 1) Songs that sound off Craig David's debut album Born to do this what comes to sounds and arrangements (and that's a positive thing actually...), 2) semi acoustic simple ones and 3) heavy rock wannabes. Quite strange combo really and this blogger's not quite sure what they have been after this year. Anyways, way better standard than in most countries selections as usual, and luckily most of the songs are in Hungarian. LISTEN TO THE ENTRIES HERE
