Eurovision stars in Portugal tonight

The big Eurovision party organized by OGAE Portugal takes place in Setúbal's Auditório José Afonso, Portugal tonight. Eurovision winner 1986 Sandra Kim will be there along with Eurovision stars Hera Björk, Jakob Svaistrup, Karolina, Hanna Pakarinen, Michael von der Heide, Mihai Traistariu, Anabel Conde, Filipa Azevedo, Fridrik Omar, Nucha with several national finalists from Portugal and Spain including Coral. Sounds like fun! How about Portugal, will it finally win with its 45th entry in 2011? It has way passed the record by Finland that won by its 40th entry in 2006.

Hanna Pakarinen goes to Portugal!

Hanna Pakarinen will join the other artists already confirmed - Hera Björk, Michale von der Heide, Mihai Traistariu, Anabel Conde, Filipa Azevedo, Fridrik Omar, Coral, Nucha and several other Portuguese artists - in September in Portugal's Eurovision party. Way to go, girl!

Coral gets bitchy: Storms out of TVE and Eurovision

Blogilkar guest writer Daniel Motiño Camúñez reports: Spanish 2008 and 2010 runner up Coral Segovia has been profiting her last moments of glory in the Spanish press before and after Eurovision Song Contest. The day before the Big Final she was interviewed by the Spanish daily "El Mundo" where she announced that even though it hurts, she will never try again for Eurovision Song Contest due to the big disappointments and all the broken dreams in the last 5 years . She also said that Spanish television does not take the contest seriously at all "it is like if a freak played for the national football team" , she stated making mention (hopefully) to Roberto Chiquilikuatre. The cherry on the cake arrived when she was asked to give her opinion about Daniel Diges and "Algo Pequeñito". She said with a smile on her face "I would rather keep that opinion to myself". But the real polemics started when Coral was mentioned by the Swedish commentator just ...

Spain: Some goodies to vote

One day left to vote in Spain and then we will have the top-10 for the national final. I guess the game is more or less over but you can still vote and try to change at least some positions but nothing can drop bs like John Cobra (except disqualification. Anyone?). Here are some songs that I like: Daniel Diges - Algo pequeñito Alex Manga - Déspues de ti no hay más José Galisteo - Beautiful life Ainhoa Cantalapiedra - Volveré Javier Mota - Amarte hoy Coral - En una vida Rafael de Alba - Chelsea boy Blas Cantó - Hoy quisiera Yanira Figueroa - Perdóname Anabel Conde - Sin miedos Marty - Vientos de libertad Jésus de Manuel - Que quieras de mi Sergio Márquez - Un lugar para amanos

Spain hits one million votes in 3 days!

The voting is hot in Spain. In 3 days the mark of one million votes has been passed and Facebook, blogs and forums are filled with anti-Pop Star Queen groups and topics but she is still leading with nearly 100.000 votes while Coral is catching up again about 20.000 votes behind. El pezón rojo has less than half the votes of Coral in third place while Chimo Bayo ft CodeName follows 20.000 votes behind El pezón. Then it gets more even: Samuel y Patricia, Lorena, Venus, Daniel Diges, Anabel Conde and Ainhoa are all very close to each other and complete the top-10. Out of this top-10 I would personally only save Coral ,  Ainhoa and Daniel Diges . Rafael De Alba is slowly climbing up and reaching the Top-50. Vote him here!

If the fans got to say theirs in Spain...

... Superstar Monica Naranjo would be the fans choice in Spain according a poll conducted by www.eurovision-spain.com . Monica is followed by Chenoa and Mirela (who should have won last year with Nada es comparable a ti , btw). La 5. Estación , La Oreja de Van Gogh , Marta Sanchez , Diana Navarro , Merche , Rosa and Amaral complete the top-10 wish list by fans. Other interesting names include my favourite Malú (11th), Coral (13th), Soraya (14th), David Bisbal (20th), Amaia Montero (25th), Beth (29th), Enrique Iglesias (40th), David Civera (43rd), Sergio Dalma (46th) and brilliant  Bebe (47th). But as there is an open internet selection for the songs that will start January 13 we can only wish at least some of these artists have applied....
