Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

Ádokzoli or Zoli Ádok from Hungary wins the Barbara Dex Award for the worst dressed artist in Moscow 2009 Eurovision. Czech Republic's Gipsy.cz came second and Krassimir from Bulgaria third. None of the top-3 reached the final. Fourth, and remarkably the first female singer, was Albania's Kejsi Tola who did get to the final. Slovenian and Slovakian teams didn't receive one single vote so could we say they were the best dressed? Or simply so plain and boring no one paid any attention? Congratulations to Andorra and Susanne Georgi for not making the top of this list! That is the question someone asked in a blog. Good question and indeed pops in mind when watching Ádokzoli & co on stage belting out Dance with me today. Skintight pants and top don't hide much of Zoli's remarkable bodyparts. No wonder someone blogging from Moscow called him "sex on legs". Still this is a fun song and should make it to the final easily if they get into the groove and flirty mood and it translates to the screens. It is most unfortunate the three up tempo dance tracks are back to back in this semi. And even more so that Hungary starts it and Greece comes after. Otherwise Ádokzoli would easily kick Sakis ass! He has an entertaining coreography and does a lot of things on stage without being overwhelming. To prove the fact he is quite out of breath after several takes but when you need to perform it only once that can be avoided for sure. There are obvious sound problems to be sorted out but in all its fun performance and Ádokzoli and his dancers look good and sexy. Ádokzoli and his team, including Caribbean-American pianist Kasai - also lyricist for Dance with me - and guitarist Gábor "Biga" Heincz had a farewell party in Budapest. One of the guests was Szulák Andrea, Hungary's first ever Eurovision hopeful back in 1993. Her Árva reggel didn't qualify for the final from the preselection round for the new countries so Hungary had to wait til 1994 to make a real debut. Ádokzoli's team has been practising hard the past two months and... well, I like it. And I think they will make the final!

Támas Náray is described as a maximalist and uncompromising man. The well-known designer pays huge attention to the Hungarian Eurovision dresses. " Besides of creating glamorous costumes we also have to focus on the feeling of this up-tempo song " he says. " Our performers should manage to show the best in these costumes ." As costume designer of the European champion figure skater Julia Sebestyen , he knows what kind of dresses meet all of these requirements."Támas is a celebrated designer and wearing his costumes is a great honour for me" says Zoli himself. The Hungarian entrant in Moscow 2009 will be Ádok Zoltan alias Ádokzoli, a junior figure skating champion turned into ballet dancer turned into musical star and now also a pop singer defending the colors of Hungary in Moscow. The debut album Tánclépés includes besides the title track also the English version Dance with me and a Markanera remix of the Hungarian version and ten other tracks of easy pop tunes, all in Hungarian.
