Hungary's A Dal 2017 comes to an end tonight and we will know who will travel to Kyiv and try to bring the trophy to Budapest for the first time. First the juror will rank the songs and send four to the next round, where televoters will have the final say. The field is very much open here. My guilty pleasure is Joci and I wouldn't mind if Kállay Saunders wins again. I can't not think about ByeAlex when I hear Soulwave.... Let's see what the Hungarians end up with.... Hungary will choose four finalists tonight. Fur entries will reach the final. Three will be chosen by the jury and onemore by the televoters among the remaining acts. For this blogger there's one above all the rest in this rather mediocre (for A Dal) semifinal: Joci Pápai. Hypnotic, ethnic and fantastic. Love it! The second semifinal takes place tomorrow. A strong line up again tonight, this blogger is hoping Benjámin and Joci get through. Joci is kinda hypnotic really, beats Totova's ethnic vibe easily!   Hungary has revealed their participants for the annual A Dal contest, aka their selection for the Eurovision song contest. The shows start on January 14 and as usual there will be three heats, then two semifinals and then the grand final. Countless familiar names from the previous A Dals taking part again. among them Eurovision veteran András Kállay Saunders who has declared he will try until he wins Eurovision. Do we complain? No. Olág Gergö is behind Roma Soul, another familiar name to watch out. And Gabi Toth as there, too, as Totova.... Hungary has also selected its semifinalists for A Dal 2014 and among the chosen ones out of the record number of submitted songs we have many familiar names from previous years trying their luck again. András Kállay Sanuders, Dénes Pál, Laura Cserpes, Lilla Polyák and Gigi Radics are all back, as are Királys Viktor and Linda.... Once again there are several heats (January 25 and February 1 and 8) followed by two semifinals (February 15 and 16) before the final on February 22, plus the professional jury along the televote. And as it is already a tradition last year's winner ByeAlex is one of the jury members. The second semifinal took place last night and pretty much the song I thought did get through. The final will this Saturday. We might just have another duet coming up for Malmö 2013... but I keep fingers crossed for My baby ...
