Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

Just like in Finland, also in Norway the pre-contest favorites topped the national final for Eurovision, Melodi Grand Prix MGP2021 results when it was TIX vs KEiiNO in the last and third round. TIX won with 57,5% of votes in that round over Eurovision veterans, fan favorites and 2019 televote winners KEiiNO. TIX aka Andreas Haukeland (27) has become very popular in Norway the past couple of years with a string of hits since his #1 hit Jeg vil ikke leve (I don't want to live) in 2019. Wikipedia infors: He is diagnosed with tourettes syndrome, thereby the reason for his stage name, TIX ("ticks"). Norway is one of those countries that decided not to send last year's winner Ulrikke to the Eurovision 2021 and go with  business as usual attitude and have their annual Melodi Grand Prix instead. Ulrikke, who had a very strong chance to do really well in Eurovision last year with her Attention decided not to take part despite invitation. Instead KEiiNO are back, the 2019 European wide televoting winners along with a very strong line up that beats neighboring Melodifestivalen line up by miles.  KEiiNo is of course the big fan favorite, but TiX is the one ruling streaming services and previous MGP fan favorites Raylee and Rein Alexander also have a lot of support. Let's continue the series and kill some time having a look at the last decade and see who were the Top-10 best scoring countries in the Eurovision song contest in the past ten years. The ways to calculate are many and here I have used the simple average placement method (and it's not all so serious). Next up is Norway at n.o 7. Norway has been sending a steady string of successes after a rocky start of the decade that started with a NQ and then a last place in the final.. Those who didn't qualify were fan favorites no matter what, and this blogger thinks Agnete's NQ was very much undeserved. It seems every year some artist does a video of his Eurovision journey and this year it's Jurijus.  Salt to the wounds of unfair non qualification?

Finland's Darude feat. Sebastian Rejman may have not made it to the final, but Finland is well present anyways. Sweden may have their songwriters, producers and dancers all over the place but Finland has its special effects, pyros and rains of fire. Oy Pyroman Finland is again behind most of all that, just like they were in Helsinki 2007, Belgrade 2008, Moscow 2009, Malmö 2013, Stockholm 2016, Kiev 2017 and now Tel Aviv 2019, and of course they were behind the most pyroesque performance ever in the Eurovision history, namely Lordi's winning performance in Athens 2006. But that's not all. The secret fourth member of KEiiNO from Norway is songwriter-producer Henrik Tala . A Finn.  And Ambra Succi , despite her name another Finn, is behind Malta's performance for Michela. She's no newbie either having done that for Jana Burceska, Poli Genova, Robin Stjernberg and most notably Loreen's winning performance. Among others.
