WHAT I LISTENED TO IN THE 80'S, vol. 68 - AGNETHA FÄLTSKOG

After ABBA went on everlasting break Agnetha continued her solo career right away releasing three albums in mid 80's. Since then she has released about an album in a decade.... Check out also:

WHAT'S BEEN GOING ON IN THE EUROVISION WORLD IN NOVEMBER 2013?

I'm back! During my absense I checked the internet only once or twice and nothing much seemed to had happened in the wonderful Euovision world but now I see actually there's been some major news. Like Agnetha performing live! For the first time since 1982, mind you! Take That's Gary Barlow managed in what the others have failed so far when they sung together the song he penned for her in her latest album, I should have followed you home in London's Children in Need Rocks 2013. Now that she's back on stage, let's start the ABBA reunion rumours, will we? European Music Awards 2013 went to the usual non-European acts and Marco Mengoni nor Lena took home the trophy for the Best Worldwide act won by... err, who ??!! Montenegro has confirmed Sergej Ćetković as their representative. It seems we will get a real Balcan ballad in Joksimovic style. Now that Serbia and Croatia are missing, will Montengero sweep that vote and finally make impact in the final? Clev...

AGNETHA FÄLTSKOG COMEBACK?

When you really loved someone should be Agnetha's comeback single, released next Monday, a first new song by her in 25 years! And it's a duet with Take That's Gary Barlow! Or just written by him. Or then not, Universal sticks to "No comment". Anyways, Agnetha hasn't released an album since 2004 when a cover album My coloring book was released. And that came 17 years after her previous three solo albums in the 1980's following the ABBA years after her solo stuff in the late 1960's and early 1970's.... Let's see if this is true or not....

Bits and pieces across Europe - the latest

NRK has released the song titles and the writers, and it looks pretty much like the artists list I published before here is pretty much real. Maybe. The rumours about Take That's Gary Parlow writing the British entry are still well alive, with added bonus that Blue's Duncan James would perform it. I like the idea. Another possibility for the writer is still Elton John - both would follow nicely Andrew Lloyd Webber's footsteps. Albania apparently doesn't care much for Christmas, their selection will run from December 24 to 27, and previous Eurovision entrants Anjeza Shahini and Kejsi Tola are taking part. Also Belarus has kicked off its selection with 25 songs and the Polish four are online as well. Finland will announce its titles and writers next Monday, when they will be also online in YLE's website. News also from Croatia and Portugal amongst others. Looks like the national selection season is slowly getting to a full swing. More about all this next week when I...

UK rumours: James Fox or Gary Barlow?

Some rumours are moving in UK as well. Apparently James Fox is willing for another go in Eurovision. He already did the honors in 2004 with Hold on to our lobe that reached 16th place. Another rumour, once again this year as it was circulating already last year, is that Gary Barlow of Take That fame would write the song. Elton John has been also approached to follow Sir Andrew Lloud Webber's footsteps, or should I say notes but Elton has a price tag a bit too high for BBC they claim. I would be happy with Gary Barlow is he brings us something like Patience , Pray   or A million love songs .
