Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

The official single's chart that you can find here differs quite a lot from what the radios play proving the streaming audience is not the same as radio listening audience. Needless to say this blogger is a lot more in tune with the radio waves. Even if they played mostly only Nelli Matula's UMK 2025 entry and BEHM... And Ed Sheeran being the only non Finnish chart topper in 2025!   Here comes some more #Finpop 2025. We have Sofia Zida, Olli Halonen, newcomer Kaukua (as an artist as he has co-written and produced already many hits for Hugo for example) with up and coming AHTI and Finnish schlager pop scene icon Meiju Suvas with her retro banger that has taken a new life Could all these acts be heading for UMK in form or another? Meiju has expressed her wish and has applied before (already in early 1980's btw).   After a month's break it's time to relaunch your #Finpop 2025 doses. We kick of with Behm dueting with Ahti (she's in charts also dueting with Kuumaa's Johannes covering Käärijä, read more here ), along with other collaboration with Mellas and Sana. I have already featured Sana as well as Runo in this series. And then we have Louie Blue who's tipped for UMK 2026 even by other than this blogger as I have tipped for a couple of years already.   Yet another dose of #Finpop 2025. We have a still pretty unknown TINA with a string of ,more or less young males with various degree of success and experience collaborating with each other: Joe L, ANI, AHTI, Ollie, Aste and Juuna Chill - all already familiar to this series of #Finpop. And yes, there's again a song co-written by Goldielocks (Joe L/ANI) as well as Kuumaa's Johannes (Aste/Ollie)! The 2024 year in music started with AHTI's Väärään aikaan (feat. Hugo) sitting at #1 spot for the 5th week in a row. Then came Mirella going straight to #1 in week 2 starting off a spectacular year for this newcomer. Four number one hits and 25 weeks at number one spot! A total of 12 Top-20 hits off her #1 debut album. Check out the Radio Play charts here It was also a year of duets and collaborations while UMK 2024 artists Sara Siipola and Sexmane scored a joint #1 (when their UMK songs stopped at #2 and #4), as did hostess and interval act Pilvi Hämäläinen. And good old Wham! scored a Christmas number one being also the ONLY foreign act to do so. The rest was then pretty much various (pop) rappers as usual. All in all the songs that made it to #1 are all quite melodic and good and deserved their success, unlike in many times in previous years when I personally wasn't so keen on those that made it to the top many times. And nine Eurovision song contest entries made it to top-5...

The past three years the most streamed song on Spotify in Finland has been an UMK entry but not anymore in 2024. Newcomers Mirella, Hugo and Ani took over but Kuumaa was still the second most listened act in general, Sexmane 5th. Their both latest albums made also the list of most listened albums: Pisara meressä (1.) and Hyvikset ja pahikset (6.) The most listened artist was however Turisti , followed by Kuumaa, Mirella, Gettomasa , Sexmane , Ibe , Costi , Taylor Swift, Isac Elliot and Lauri Haav .  1. Mirella - Timanttei 2.
