Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

  Slovenia's own Robbie Williams is looking smart in his suit and belt out the song with powerful vocals. At one point he's on his knees before pirueting on his feet again, opening the jacket and letting it all out. Not sure about the scarf and belt hanging between his legs though, looks a bit weird if it's seen on telly, too.  As I said before I will be laughing so hard if and when this fan hate sails to the final :-)

  Omar is on his way to Slavko's space in his spaceship. As so the stage's movements and lights suggest. mainly black and white and simple the stage takes completely different form and and in the end the spaceship that rises half way the song goes even higher and the spotlights eat him up and off he goes. Bon voyage! Or so it all seems from afar. This is the fans hate wank this year but I like it. An oldfashioned classy song he sings with gusto. I hope it will be shock qualifier :-)

One more for tonight. Slovenian Eurovision entry On my way was performed tonight by Omar Naber in native Slovenian as Tam nekje (Somewhere). OMG how I miss the native languages!!! Listen to it here

Pictured is Slovenia's national flower, red carnation Slovenia organized as usual its national selection EMA with two semifinals and the final. 90 songs were received and 16 were chosen. After that previous winner Amaya aka Maja Keuc withdrew and was replaced. She had other career opportunities and decided to go for that. Other previous winner Omar Naber, who represented the country already in Kyiv's frst time in 2005 will return this time with self-penned On my way . He won his semifinals both televote and the jury vote, but in the final he won the juryvote but was second in the televote to teen heartthrobs  BQL. Omar Naber's (35) father comes from Jordan but is Slovenian born and raised. His career started from a talent show, and then he was hot and in Eurovision. He failed to make the final but he's been around ever since. Four albums to his credit, one of them also in English and several attemps to get back to Eurovision (2009, 2011 and 2014 plus 2016 for ...

One more video for the season: Slovenia. Omar Naber has revamped the song as well, with the help of Budapest Synphonic Orchestra and it's rather boombastic indeed. If the sound is big, he will be all alone in the stage in Kyiv though. The dancer we see in the video, Jernej Kozan, Slovenia's Got Talent winner in 2015, won't be in Kyiv with him. 

Omar Naber has won the Slovenian national final Ema 2017 with On my way. He's indeed on his way back to Kyiv where he already competed back in 2005 with Stop and stop he did failing to reach the final. Let's see how it will go with his power ballad.
