Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

  Krista Siegfrids will perform today in Helsinki's Musiikkitalo some Swedish classics with Tomi Metsäketo who came second in Euroviisut 2006 losing only to Lordi with his Eternamente Maria . The concert Thank you for the music is part of annual Helsingin Juhlaviikot and the songs to be performed were voted by the public over the smmer. Below is the list of the songs to be performed and the original artists, aka the most loved Swedish songs in Finland :-) Krista however performed already yesterday one of the songs, Eva Dahgren's Vem tänder stjärnorna in the Eurobasket Fan Village right next to the venue sporting a huge Krista billboard.... She really did justice to the original, great stuff! Latvia's Riga kicks off the major Eurovision promo events this year. Spikeri Concert hall in Riga has ten of this year's artists on stage with special guests from Sweden: the Eurovision 1984 winners The Herreys, and Schlagerfeber quartet made of four experienced Melodifestivalen and Eurovision backing singers belting out some hits.  This event is rapidly growing; two years ago when it was organized for the first time there were ony 3 artists, last year 8 and now 10.  This year's artists are: Belarus - Ivan Bosnia & Herzegovina - Dalal & Deen feat. When John Karayiannis performed his jazzy take off all but jazzy Eurovision 1984 winner Diggiloo diggiley who would have thought a classy video and rather marvellous recorded version of it would follow? Not forgetting the golden shoes, of course! The Herreys performed earlier this year in London's Eurovision greatest hits their winner again - one of the highlights of the evening! 

EBU has been revealing names on daily basis since the Jubilee concert in London was announced a few days ago. The 60th anniversary event or Eurovision's Greatest hits will be staged in London on March 31, 2015. It will be hosted by Graham Norton and Petra Mede and below is the list of artists confirmed to appear so far. More names to come so stay tuned.... EBU has finally revealed its way to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Eurovision song contest. A specila concert will be held in London on March 31, 2015 in Apollo Hammersmith. It will be hosted by Graham Norton and Petra Mede so it's not going to be too serious for sure! The first confirmed artists to appear are reigning Eurovision Queeen Conchita Wurst, the Swedish winners of 1984 the Herrey brothers and french Natasha St.Pier, 4th in 2001. More acts will be announced as soon as the deal is done. And surely there will be surprises so most likely all of them won't even be known beforehand (publicly at least) so let the rumour mill beging! The golden Swedish shoes of 1984 have turned red! Anna Bergendahl managed to wear her trademark red Converses in the Melodifestivalen semifinal and risked disqualification - at least according the tabloids - but now the Swedish fans going to Oslo 2010 have found a way to show their support to her: wearing red Converses! Luxembourg hosted the 29th Eurovision on May 5, 1984. Ireland returned but Israel was missing again. The stage was the most modern up til then and the postcard quite revolutionary and funny. The presenter Desirée Nosbusch was the youngest ever at 19. UK caused scandal by keeping the real singers backstage while Belle & The Devotions were on stage. Also Yogoslavia's preview video was rather scandalous for the time. For the first time the audience booed at the artists. Linda Martin, Mary Roos, Hot Eyes were there as well as Alice and Franco Battiato for Italy. Their song is still remembered and considered as one of the best ever even if it only came shared 5th.
