Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

Let's continue the series and kill some time having a look at the last decade and see who were the Top-10 best scoring countries in the Eurovision song contest in the past ten years. The ways to calculate are many and here I have used the simple average placement method (and it's not all so serious). Next up is Romania at n.o 6. Romania has had a very steady finish in the contest last decade; only two top-10s but all the rest 12th-17th. Until two close non qualifications to end the decade with. And then there's of course the disqualification in 2016 for TVR for repeated non-payment of debts that made Ovidiu Anton stay home in the last minute with   Moment of silence . The morning after the Welcome Party is here and Slovenia 's Maja had the earliest call on stage. And it shows and sounds like it, too. Maja is not wearing her actual outfit nor the backing singers but the very high heals are there. The choreography is great and propably they used this rehearsals to master that and the camera angles instead of giving us a vocally perfect performance. This is kind of a "in your face" song and will feel very strong on TV and buzzled people will either go numb or vote for this in masses. Bordeline finalist at this point. More in that out though. Romania has still those annoying girls jumping around with their trumpets and this morning I'm very, very tired of this song that I never liked so much to start with.  I hope there is some common sense in Europe and Romania misses the final for once....  but I doubt it. The best thing about this song is the lead singer David Bryan. Great voice. But the song isn't my cup of tea. Zzzz. The chorus is banal. (Now if one argues Ding dong is- it is but it's not serious. This tries to be with all this changing the world for better place nonsense) The hand clapping over nthuastic foxy ladies jumping around with trumpets don't help either to win me over.  On the contrary. And all that wild figures in the back screen make my head dizzy. No. Not for me. This has many fans though so maybe they will reach the final but I don't think they deserve it.  Not with this song. Not all Eurovision promo events take the same spotlight like the one in Amsterdam or the other one in Kyiv or are as succesful and big. Gent in Belgium was attended only by the artists from Latvia, Slovakia and Romania. I have no idea who organized it and how but apparently at least the guys from Musiqq and Hotel FM did also other promo gigs around Gent those days and Witloof Bay from Belgium joined them at some point. Don't know really what Twiins were up to? Anyways, Musiqq is giving final touches to their performance and on Friday April 29 will give a concert in Riga before heading off to Düsseldorf on May 3 with their team that includes besides the four backing singers the Head of delegation and the Head of press, once again the lovely Aija Medinika (rock it girl! xox)

Hotel FM with Change has won the Romanian final. Proundly I can say my instict was right again when hearing the songs live as you can read here . :-) Also about the televoters going for the popopera....
