EUROVISION 2018: HERE ARE THE MARCEL BEZENCON AWARD WINNERS

As usual these awards were handed out just before the final show and we have three winners. The Marcel Bezençon Award, named after the founder of the Eurovision Song Contest, was first handed out in 2002. The Awards are divided into three categories – the Composer Award, the Press Award and the Artistic Award. Composer Award : Rewarded for the best composition with special consideration given to originality and national identity in music and lyrics: Bulgaria 's EQUINOX with Bones . Press Award: Given to the best song according to the collective vote of the accredited press: France 's Madame Monsieur with Mercy . Artistic Award: Presented to the best artistic performance and voted by the commentators from all countres: Eleni Foureira from Cyprus with Fuego . I totlaly agree with the two of them, but Composer award and "national identity" to Bulgaria that is pure America? really?

ESC 2017: FRANCESCO GABBANI WINS BEST SONG AWARD!

"Occidentali's Karma" is Best Song according to The Collective voting of the accredited press and wins  Marcel Bezençon Press   Award! Thank you! Portugal's Salvador Sobral won the Artistic award voted by the commentators, and Luisa Sobral the Compose award voted by the other composers.

Israel wins all Marcel Bezençon awards

Marcel Bezençon awards, named after the father of the Eurovision song contest have been handed out and Israel gets a consolation price after disappointing result in the contest itself by winning all three of them. Now that's the first. The Press Award is voted by the accredited media and press in Oslo 2010, the Artistic awar d by the commentators, and the Composer award by the composers of the song in competition. Congratulations Israel!

Patricia Kaas wins The Best Artist Award

Marcel Bezençon Award 2009 awards were given moments before the final this year and Patricia Kaas won the best artist award and Bosnia-Herzegovina's Bistra voda was chosen as the best composition. Norway was the Press favourite. These awards assigned by the delegations in Moscow are named after Marcel Bezençon, the father of the Eurovision song contest. He got the idea in 1955 after Sanremo Festival in Italy and the first Eurovision took place in 1956. It was also a special night to Patricia Kaas in many ways. Her mother died on this day exactly 20 years ago, and since then she has never performed on May 16 until now. She finished 8th, the best placing for France since 2002.

Marcel Bezençon Awards 2008

I have completely forgotten to post about the Marcel Bezençon Awards announced in the After party as usual. Marcel (1907-1981) was the father of Eurovision song contest. He was until 1970 the director of EBU and created Eurovision based on Sanremo festival. However, to the point: The composers present in Belgrade voted for their favourite and this year's Composer's Award goes to Andrei Tudor and his song Pe-o margine de lume , the Romanian entry. Previous Eurovision winners have also voted for Artistic Award for the best performer and the lucky winner is Ukraine's Ani Lorak. Accreditated press in Belgrade voted for Portugal's entry Senhora do mar by Vania Fernandez as the best song or Press Award . Finally, the readers of gylleneskor.se website were able to vote for the Fan Award , given to an artist under 25 years. Armenia's Sirusho and Qele qele took this one home.
