Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

Let's continue the series and kill some time having a look at the last decade and see who were the Top-10 best scoring countries in the Eurovision song contest in the past ten years. The ways to calculate are many and here I have used the simple average placement method (and it's not all so serious). Next up is Denmark at n.o 8. They have been doing constantly pretty well except two non qualification in between compensated by a win and additional three top-10 finishes in this decade. Anti Social Media is the one I hardly remember at all to be honest.... but I do remember Tim Schou's shirt all too well! And no one seems to like Soldiers of love , I do. Whereas Where I am .... not so much! 2011 A Friend in London - New tomorrow - 5th *** 2012 Soluna Samay - Shoud've known better - 23rd *** 2013 Emmelie De Forest - Only teardrops - WINNER ***** 2014 Basim - Cliché love song - 9th *** 2015 Anti Social Media - The way you are - NQ (13th in semi-final) ...

New music from old familiar Eurovision voices again. Rasmussen continues with the Viking pop as his Go beyond is pretty much the same sound as his Eurovision entry. Why change it if it works and no one else dos it?  Benjamin Ingrosso goes from success to another, like her mom in the 1980's. Behave . Why am I thinking of some early Madonna? Musically and as a person: not the best of singers nor dancers he somehow makes it work... Sevak Khanagyan keeps building his Russian career.  Океан Внутри Тебя (Ocan within you) is another typical Russian pop song he wrote himself but it could be Dima Bilan's latest.  Spanish sweethearts broke up after Eurovision and their solo efforts haven't been that convincing, but here's Alfred and his De la tierra hasta Marte .

San Marino - Jessika feat. Jenifer Brening - Who we are "I am not your robot". Got to give it to San Marino for taking the Israel's #1 slogan this year and own it. Last in the betting odds all spring no one expected anything from them - as usual - but here they are again: talk of the town. Jessika and Jenifer, joined by two female dancers (and Basti hidden somewhere for vocals) got their four robots and created a fun performance including robotic marriage proposal that seems to have gotten mostly positive comments and press center in applause. But for the right reasons? Jessika's vocals seem to be all over the place, and Jenifer's rap quite not there but it's entertaining. "Brilliant!", "Daft", "Fun", "Cute", Robot emowerment", "Better than expected", "Charming", "Amateurish" Denmark - Rasmussen - Higher ground The Danish hipster vikings are on stage marching with t...

Norway - Alexander Rybak - That's how you write a song Eurovision 2009 winner Alexander Rybak (31) returns with a self written That's how you write a song . that will also be the 1500th Eurovsion song when he opens the 2nd semifinal with it. He won the Norwegian selection as a minor surprise but very convincingly. The fans really didn't believe in his chances but when masses vote... what do fans know? This blogger liked the song from the start and it was one of my three favorites and his live performance took away any doubts. The song itself isn't anything special really, true, but he makes it work and it's very enjoyable and entertaining three minutes. Not a winner in Lisbon but I wouldn't be surprised if he does very well in the final, to the left side of the scoreboard for sure. 8/10 Albania - Eugent Bushpepa - Mall Albania was the first to choose and now it feels already soooo long time ago when we first heard Mall . To compensate Eug...
