Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

It's time to launch the charts following post again. The first week we can expect both Neea River and Nelli Matula to enter the charts while the others will come next week. And indeed a great start for Nelli as #2 while Neea has to do with #8.  The songs debut (week 3/25)  in  the Radioplay Nelli at #39, Costee at #57, Viivi #63 and  Goldielocks #85. Neea debuted already last week (week 2/25) at #87 and climbs to #80 this week. It's interesting Goldielocks gets radio time but not One Morning Left.... Let's see next week how Erika debuts! The success continues. I know I am repeating myself but the fact is the third night scored 60,1% share, the second highest share second only to Pippo Baudo's 60,5% in 1995! 60,1% responds to 10.001.000 viewers in average. The first part of the show was watched by 13.243.000 and the second part (after 23.30) by 6.436.000. The most watched moment was when Mahmood was presenting Ghali at 00.08 (67,9%). Remarkable is that 70% of age group 25-34 was watching, and in general 74% of the female viewers.  The Sanremo 2024 Spotify Playlist was the most listened on on February 7 - globally! For the second day in a row, the 30 Sanremo songs occupy the whole Top-.30 of Italian Spotify Daily chart. Geolier stays at #1 but Mahmood takes over Annalisa as #2.   The total audience for the second night was 60,1% share or  10,9 million, out of which 320,000 were on Raiplay and other devices instead of good old television. The record for those was at 22.37 (670.000) when Mahmood was on. There's an increase of +50% for those other devices compared to last year. The regular television viewers are a bit down in both viewers and share from last year but then again last year the second night was still featuring the songs for the first time, this year they were all presented already the first night instead. 13,434.000 (57,6%) were watching the first part, 6.899.000 (66,2%) were still watching the second part (from 23.30 onward)  The radio Top-5 is Annalisa, The Kolors, Angelina Mango, Emma and Mahmood . Everyone's reporting Måneskin global success on Spotify and not only but they are also doing some remarkable damage in the official Finnish charts.  This week they are Number One in still in the album charts with Teatro d'ira, vol.1 (eight weeks now, seventh at number one after debuting at #2). It also charted in the Physical album chart at #3. Chosen is number 3 (eight weeks now, peak at #2)  Ballo della vita is number 10 (eight weeks now, peak at #5) In the singles charts I wanna be your slave drops to number 2 (eight weeks total so far, 3 of them at #1 and 4 of them at #2).  Beggin' is at number 3 (seven weeks so far, peaking at #3 for the 3rd week, the others 2 weeks at ¤4, one at #5 after debuting at #10) Zitti e buoni is at number 5 (8 weeks total so far, peaking at #1 for two weeks and all weeks at top-5. The annual crazy day of Eurovision chart action is here. In iTunes there's a lot of action today. Portugal's winning entry has hit #1 spot in 14 different countries and is in Top-10 in additional 15 countries, charting altogether in 46 countries from Mozambique to Canada, from Kirkhistan to Hong Kong. Belgius is in charts in 34 countries (#1 in Belgium, Estonia and Austria). Bulgaria is #1 in Bulgaria and in charts in 32 countries. Moldova follows with 26 presence but no #1s, Sweden with 24 and no #1s. Wide chart action also my Norway, Hungary, Italy, Romania, France, Australia, Austria, UK, Cyprus, Israel, Croatia, Azerbaijan, Netherlands and Denmark with more than ten presence. Armenia, Greece, Belarus, Germany, Poland and Estonia also have a few, while Spain, Finland, Ireland, Ukraine, Switzerland and Latvia have just domestic support and maybe a couple of others.  In comparasion in Spotify Belgium leads with 14 countries, followed by Bulgaria (11), Portugal (10), ...

Now this is surprising. One would think Sandhja's Sing it away was a kind of a flop, but here comes Radio Yle Suomi's most played songs chart of 2016 and guess what? It's number one! And even more so, Eini's entry Draamaa is n.o 3. Now that pretty much sets the tone this radio channel is; schlager and and pop schlager.  Further down the shart Kuunkuiskaajat's Unelmaa is n.o 24, Laura Voutilainen at n.o 35 with Miks ei and at n.o 49 with Olet mulle enemmän . This year's UMK entrant Zuhlke is n.o 54 with Huominen on meidän . Eurovision winner Celine Dion is there, too, N.o 68 with L'étoile . Jamala appears at number 64 at the most played songs in Finnish radios this week. The real winner is however Sweden's Frans who enters the download chart at number 7, the streaming charts at number 50 and is still number 80 in the radio chart after 5 weeks.  Also Dami Im and Sergey Lazarev enter the download charts, at number 11 and number 17.  The official album re-enters the album chart at number 10 Finland's Sandhja is already out of the charts. She peaked at number 8 in the download chart and stayed in the radio chart for 7 weeks peaking at 29.  No trace of any of them in the official singles chart though....

The morning after. We see Ukrain's 1944 by Jamala has got the iTines wild and it has become the number one in Eurovision Tracker , too. This could be the first time an Eurovision winner hits #1 in Lao People's Democratic Republic, is it? :-) Other more exotic countries include Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Philippines. She does #10 in Sweden, #42 in Germany, #77 in UK and Australia charting in 34 countries. Australia is charting in 28 countries, Russia is in charts in 29 countries (#1 in Russia), Bulgaria in 24 (#1 in Bulgaria) and Sweden in 28 (#1 in Lithuania). The Italians of America, Anthony Benedetto and Stefani Germanotta or better known as Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga has found new little friendS from native Italia, who are making it big in America. Already now their album has made it to Top-200 in reguar charts, but in the Classic albums it makes something weirdly wonderful: all three editions enter the Top-20: International version #1 Spanish version #6 Italian version #14 Just wait and see when they start touring America how things develop.....

Emmelie de Forest's Only teardrops enters the official Finnish singles Top-20 charts at #17. This is the real charts, not iTunes or similar download only. On the official album Top-50 chart the Eurovision 2013 compilation jumps from #25 to #9, while Krista Siegfrids debut album Ding Dong climbs from #24 to #19. Agnetha Fältskog 's A debuted at #15 last week and is already dropping to #22. Patricia Kaas debuted at #17 thee weeks ago with Chante Piaf but is moving out of the chart at # 46. Her high debut was helped by her tour that brought her to Turku, Tampere and Helsinki giving four concerts to her Finnish fans earlier this month.

Krista Siegfrid's UMK winning song and the Finnish entry for the Malmö 2013 Eurovision Marry me makes almost a historic jump to the charts debuting at #24. What makes it historic? Usually the Finnish entries chart only around the Eurovision period in May (if at all) with the exception of Hanna Pakarinen when Leave me alone started hitting the radiowaves and charts only after mid-March. The single itself was never released/charted. And Lordi's Hard rock hallelujah entered the top-20 only after their win in Eurovision 2006 making it to #1 in the end. Also Paradise Oskar made it to #1 in May and Waldo's People in April while Teräsbetoni charted in March peaking at #2. Pernilla Karlsson was never released as a single and Kuunkuiskaajat idem thus never making the official charts. This said, the market has changed so much in the past few years that one can hardly compare the old day's single charts based on selling the (cd)singles and today's download things. It...
