Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

Super Pippo Younger Eurovision fans only know Amadeus and Carlo Conti as Sanremo gods but there's one man who has done more than anyone else, launched more Italian global stars , shaped more the Italian music scene in television than anyone else. He could really own the slogan he had created: "I have invented her/him/them!" The only miss I can think about his career is that he didn't get involved in Eurovision - if he put his efforts in Eurovision as much as in Sanremo Italy would have quite a few more wins I think. The man is of course Pippo Baudo. Born Giuseppe Raimondo Vittorio Baudo June 1936 in Sicily near Catania and died in Rome on August 16, 2025 at the age of 89. He studied law and became a lawyer but entertaining world was what he wanted to do and he started working as an actor, comedian, singer and pianist in the 1950's. The fourth night takes a break from the competition as finally (FINALLY!!!) tonight's performances and results has no weight in the final result whatsoever. If not psychological though. The 29 artists have chosen a cover to do, invited guest acts to do it with - or paired up with another artists from this year! Nice touch! In the end of the night tonight's winner will be awarded separately. Tonight's co-hosts are Eurovision and Sanremo double winner and one of last year's most successful Italian artists globally: Mahmood. This post is purely gossipy and #drama. The 75th festival della canzone Italy kicks of tomorrow and even before it started, even before the artists were revealed in fact. Social media figure and Sanremo 2023 co-hostess Chiara Ferragni and Fedez, in competition this year - and runner up in 2021 with Francesca Michielin and  with a song Chiamami per nome co-written by Mahmood, btw - are going through a very stormy and public divorce. Apparently she's having/had an affair with Tony Effe, in competition this year. Enough drama? No! It is rumored she'd had before "that the thing Erika Vikman is singing about" with another competitor, none other than Achille Lauro! She clearly has a thing for tattooed bad boys. Expect some tension in backstage..... Enough of gossip. How about some drama? The killer stairs! Yes, first Francesca Michielin fell down the stairs and hurt her leg, hopefully her song didn't require a choreography! But she's not the only one as also Modà...

As usual Sanremo will have the cover's night on Friday night and this time the artists were free to choose their song they want to interpret and with whom. And finally - finally! - the outcome of the night won't have any official impact to the final result of the festival. Of course it will guide people's mind and some artists have made curious and intelligent choices maybe and in the end of the night the Cover's night winner will be announced and awarded per se, not adding the vote to the final score as said before. And yes, finally! First of all, all the artists didn't invite a stranger on stage but fished from the pool of this year's artist so we have in duet Achille Lauro & Elodie, Francesca Michielin & Rkomi and Tony Effe & Noemi.
