Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

The final of The Voice of Finland took place last night with several Eurovision connections. First of all Sweden's Måns Zelmerlöw was the guest and performed his Heroes . To be honest, he didn't impress that much. He is good and all, but the song without the gimmick just isn't very engaging, is it? Anyways, one of the main winning candidates was Jennie Storbacka. She only managed third though. Just like she did in Euroviisut 2005 with Kiss me . In 2006 she was 4th with Take me higher . Since then she has done a long career in musicals and is now ready to kickstart her solo career. But Eurovision is a part of a pastlife she declared.... The winner is another lady with a big voice, Miia Kosunen, from ex-Nightwish's Tarja Turunen's team. Her final song was surprisingly Bed on fire , from Melodifestivalen 2013 and Ralf Gyllenhammar. Many have been surprised - and not pleased - with Robin Stjernberg's victory with You in Melodifestivalen 2013. Gustav Dahlander explains some possible reasons why the international juries preferred Robin and snobbed YOHIO . The juries voted on Friday and in the rehearsals all favorites seemed to have failed in way or the other: YOHIO missed the long climax vote and was saving his voice it seems, Ralf Gyllenhammar gave a nervous and less inspired performance and was all but pleased after it. He was back on track on Saturday, as was YOHIO, too late. Ulrik Munther wasn't in top form either, partly caused by problems in his ear piece it seems. Anton Ewald had some hip problems in his dance number. It didn't harm his vocal perfomance (but then he wasn't singing anyways) but his dancing, that the number was entirely built upon. The Melodifestivalen 2013, described as the worst ever in unison by everybody is coming to an end this Saturday.  Pre-contest favorites Army of Lovers rocketed out in fiasco so the field is left wide open to the other pre-contest favorite, Yohio . This 17-year-old creature took himself straight to the final from the first semifinal and has been patiently watching all the serious competition being voted out or failing in the second chance round last week. In Expressen he scored a 37% of the votes when the only lady left in the competition Louise Hoffsten was second with 15% followed by Ralf Gyllenhammar (14%), Ulrik Munther and Robin Stjernberg (8%), Ravaillacs and Anton Ewald (5%), Sean Banan and David Lindgren (3%) and State of drama last with 2%. I guess we can't rule Sean Banan out as he has topped some other polls and maybe David and Ulrik might have a chance, too.  This blogger agrees with this poll that Yohio will win but I wouldn't count Ralf out either.
