EUROVISION 2021: REHEARSAL DAY 5 : SWEDEN. AUSTRALIA AND NORTH MACEDONIA

Today the first semi-final ones (except for Malta) had their second rehearsal, this time 20 minutes that allowed them about three run throughs to see the adjustments made after the first rehearsals and try possible further ones as the next rehearsal will be already the first full semi final show rehearsal next Monday.  Photos and videos as always lovingly from  eurovision.tv   Sweden has been losing ground in the odds since the first rehearsal and Tusse's operation for vocal cords had a very unfortunate timing as it seems he's not quite in the top form vocally. But then again, it only matters how he sings in jury final and the final night itself. On the other hand he seemed to enjoy the stage much more this time. Otherwise it's pretty much the same as Melodifestivalen, just a few camera angles changes and he has cut off his jacket arms. Some are ready to say Sweden will be a shock non qualifier but no, it's another final for Sweden but probably out of top-10, even if th...

AUSTRALIA: MONTAIGNE GOES TECHNICOLOUR FOR EUROVISION 2021

And one more: the fifth entry released today is Australia. Montaigne won the national final last year and was internally selected for Eurovision 2021 and so was her song: Technicolour .

EUROVISION 2020: REVIEWS OF AUSTRALIA, AZERBAIJAN, GREECE AND ARMENIA

AUSTRALIA - MONTAIGNE - DON'T BREAK ME First thing: the staging in the national final - I don't get it. It distracts completely from the song that when only heard is pretty fantastic. One of my favorites this year in fact. I like the sound, lyrics and her vocals on it. It's catchy and somehow melancholic that fits me perfectly. Great song that doesn't sound like an Eurovision taylor made entry, which is always a positive thing. Montaigne is interesting and a bit nuts in a good way. I have no idea how this would have done in Rotterdam though, especially with a staging like that. Could have been a non qualifier or who knows mid table in the final? Hard to say and we'll never find out. I give anyways 9/10 AZERBAIJAN - EFENDI - CLEOPATRA Cleopatrrrrrrra! Everyone's talking about the staging here. Actually it's the most interesting thing of this; How would have it been? How they were supposed to bring this live? And that's about all there is t...

EUROVISION 2020: GET TO KNOW MONTAIGNE (AUSTRALIA)

Jessica Alyssa Cerro (24) aka Montaigne is true Australian mix with Argentinian, Spanish, Filippino and French in her heritage. She started with music in her teenage years and soon chose Montaigne as her artists name in honor of 16th centery French philosopher and esseyist Michel de Montaigne.  She released her first single and EP in 2014 and has released two albums since with a string of singles, her Eurovision 2020 entry being the 10th. On top of that she's been featured and/or provided vocals to several other songs, including Australia's #2 hit single 1955 , that was also nominated for the Song of the Year and Best Video awards in ARIA music awards. Montaigne won the award as Breakthrough artist herself and was nominated for the Best Female artist. But now four years later she's represanting Australia in the Eurovision with her Don't break me .

AUSTRALIA: IT'S MONTAIGNE FOR EUROVISION 2020

Australia's Gold Coast hosted the second Australian national final with ten acts competing. I didn't follow it properly but saw bits here and there and it seemed like a real kitch fest with the songs taking hint from the Euroviison cliché book. This goes both for the songs but especially for the staging. In the end my pre-contest favorite Montaigne with Don't break me won, even if her staging was rather horrid to be honest. Originality is good but who thought blue clown would be a great idea? My second favorite finished 3rd so I'm quite satisfied. But change the staging before Rotterdam, please.  She was jury's favorite and runner up with the televoters. 1. Montaigne - Don't break me (jury 54 + televote 53) 107 2. Casey Donovan - Proud (40 + 60) 100 3. Vanessa Amorosi - Lessons of love (42 + 40) 82 4. Didirri - Raw stuff (39 + 24) 63 5. Mitch Tambo - Together (24 + 33) 57 6. Jaguar Jonze - Rabbit hole (18 +28) 46 7. Diana Rouvas - Ca...
