Life after Helsinki 2007 Eurovision

Oh Germany! When did you become the new Belarus? Oh yes, two years ago with Andreas Kümmert. Then you continued last year with Xavier Naidoo and now you have the Sadi gate. Sigh. Really?  Anyways, it appears Wilhelm Richter aka Sadi withdraw thanks to forthcoming trouble with the law, and states he can't be dealing with it all:  "Reports about me are causing such a lot of hustle and bustle - I'd like to clarify and process that, but I am amazed at what I am being accused of, and I was totally looking forward to taking part, but I don't want to do it under these circumstances. So I'm not going to be in Cologne on February 9th" Yosefin Buohler will replace him. She's got already a lot experience and did also Swedish Idol (she's half Swedish). Wanna bet now Yosefin wins it all?

Germany has confirmed there will be a national final Unser Lied für Stockholm on February 25, 2016. Ten artists will take part and there are already a lot of rumours of the possible names but one can only wonder who wants to take part after last years scandalous finish of the final when the winner Andreas Kümmert with 78,7% of the votes withdraw and Ann Sophie, the runner up scored a flat zero points in Vienna.  This season didn't start much better when Xavier Naidoo was announced and cancelled as the represent within a couple of days thanks to protests and negative feedback.  So, who will they be? The apparently leaked list features pretty much nobodies: Benne, Boy, Cäthe, Joris, Hartman, Malky, Mia, Miu, Namika, Nmal, Olli Schulz and Wilhelm..... hey, that's 12 names..... Germany will have its final this Thursday. The last year's system will be used again. In the first round all eight acts will perform their first song. Four of them will be eliminated. In the second voting round these four will perform their second song and two will make it to the superfinal. Confusing? It is a bit, this blogger never got the idea of the song change in between.... Germany has published the names of the seven entablished artists taking part in the national selection. One more act will be added to the line up from the unknown artists who entered to take part (1.213 of them did actually). February 19 ten of them will fight for the place in the final line up in Clubkonzert to join these guys and it's worth remembering last year Elaiza beat all the big names in the final and went to Copenhagen. It might be my impression but this year's big aren't as big as last year's.... I never heard any of them, but then I can't call myself an expert in German music of today. I'm a bit stuck on Nena and Nina Hagen period really. And just like last year, they will all perform two songs again.
