EUROVISION: IF YOU WIN, IS IT WORTH COMING BACK? - ALEXANDER RYBAK 2009, 2018

Loreen of Sweden is the 15th previous Eurovision song contest winner who has decided and/or managed give it another try. Only Ireland's Johnny Logan has managed to win twice, as we all know. One can't really do a ranking however as the contest had changed so much from the 1950's with maybe a dozen songs to the approx 40 we have these days. In coming days I will feature the winners who decided to come back  after  winning the contest as there also many winners who have won with their second or third try. Alexander Rybak (36) came back in 2018 and so insignificant his comeback was that I had already completely forgotten about it! This said, he scored one of the biggest and most memorable wins in modern times with his Fairytale in 2009. Just like he had done in the Norwegian final. After winning he kept busy performing, releasing songs, collaborating with other (Eurovision) artists in various countries, even wrote a few songs to various national finals. He was working in Norwa...

EUROVISION WINNERS - WAS IT WORT RETURNING? ALEXANDER RYBAK

This one we will only know in about six weeks. The winner of 2009 contest Alexander Rybak is trying a double in Lisbon 2018 Eurovision song contest. Fairytale holds the record of most votes under the old voting system - 387 vs Iceland's 218 and 16 times 12 points, 10 times 10 and 10 times 8! (He was equally overpoweering in the Norwegian national final btw) Rybak came to Eurovision through various talent shows, culture prizes for his violin playing and theater. After Eurovision he was busy performing all over Europe incuding the Nobel Prize ceremony, starring and writing music for films in Norway and Russia, dancing in the Swedish Stricty come Dancing , and keeping his career going also in nis native Belarus and in the Russian market, besides dubbing cartoon in Norwegian. All these years he's also been a regular guest in Eurovision related events and happenings. In 2013 he wrote I'm with you  (4th) for Annsofi Pettersen for the Norwegian national final, in 2015 f...

ESC 2016 ALBANIA: THE SECOND REHEARSAL

Eneda wore her stage dress for the second rehearsal. It's golden yellow geographicly cut piece that with her red hair makes her look all golden. Even the floor. She sings the hell out of the song that you like or you don't. I suppose she will be watching the final from tv or in the hall as an audience.

ESC 2016 ALBANIA: THE FIRST REHEARSAL

Eneda, dressed in black and white today, has three visible (!!!) backing vocalists on stage. There are golden colors  (and a lot of blue, sigh)  and stage smoke to create a soft feeling. It's all very simple and Eneda hardly moves her feet at all standing in one spot just waving her hands all around. Vocally good no doubt. The rehearsal had a few fase starts and technical problems though and the blog world seems to thin it's forgettable, uninspired and dull. Static. Why I'm not surprised? In Meet & Greet Eneda tells her performance felt like a fairytale. Yup. Her dress will be golden color with some futuristic feel to it. And yes, there's something Albanian in the staging: the eagle. Did someone spot it? And her next project after Eurovision is a birthday party to her daughter who turns 3. And also new songs. Some talk about the Fairytale songs, that she didn't know existed! And what's the secret? Work, work and work. Express yourself, don't fear wha...

#ESC 2014 GREECE: RISE UP FOR EUROVISION MEDLEY!

I must admit I never really cared so much of Freaky Fortune and their RiskyKidd. But this fantastic Eurovision medley changed it all. After hearing this, seeing them perform it I want to like them! Can I say their likability did #RiseUp like 200%? Enjoy this dose of fabulousness here . Running scared never sounded this good.....

Check this out: StevenCover's Youtube channel

Internet creates stars and phenomenons and Steven Coulter could be the next one. He's 27 German guy who likes to cover Eurovision (but not only) songs and make videos for them. Sounds bad, ha? But no! He's great. Just check out Fairytale and Miss Kiss Kiss Bang videos and you know what I mean - brilliant stuff! Another couple of the serious vs fun stuff is Streets of love (Todas ruas do amor) and Be my Valentine . Well done Steven, I'm a fan! There's a lot more on his channel so check it out here: http:// www.youtube.com/user/StevenCovers
